Hello Everybody,

Hold on to your notepads, folks, because this week I've added a whole slew of new trips coming up next month. Summer is such a wonderful time for road trips and excursions and I can't seem to help myself in arranging as many as I can. Having an amazing team, like Maggie and Bill, makes it all possible! Since trips are filling up quite fast, maybe this larger selection will give more people a wider range of trips to choose from. "Choose" is the operative word here, since I don't think that the same 13 people will register for the same trips (or at least I hope not).

June will also be the end of our '23/'24 Theater Dinner season, with the last trip going to Geva on June 20th to see the production of The Color Purple. Chef Christina has put her knowledge of southern cuisine to good practice here; creating a menu typical of a Georgian Sunday dinner to highlight the location of the play's story.

Next week's lunch menus are also ready for ordering, and as has become customary, our Chef has blended a bit of the old and the new to keep our taste buds feeling rather intercontinental. I asked her about the Pimento cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich and learned that she makes this cheese herself and that this sandwich is absolute heaven; so please give it a try next week.
Thank you, by the way, for all the great feedback on the Chicken Waldorf Salad Sandwich that was unveiled this week! I have duly passed it all on.

As for those trips...
First up, we'll be heading back to the Memorial Art Gallery for tours on June 13th and June 20th. Again, two dates have been scheduled to give as many people as possible a chance to go. Last year these tours were very successful, but I can only arrange a limited amount of these free tours every year, so hopefully those that didn't get a chance to go last year, will be able to make it this June.

Ever been to the Granger Homestead out in Canandaigua? Here's your chance to explore that amazing property with tours of both the mansion as well as the extensive Carriage House. This tour will take place on June14th.

Summer weather means that our local markets will start to flourish and who doesn't love a trip to Rochester's Public Market? New shops, cafes, and an art gallery have been added to the campus, guaranteeing a fun trip that doesn't entail only gazing at zucchini and melons. You might choose one trip just to have a delicious brunch and a walk through the art gallery, and the next trip to stock up for this season's jam making. You decide!

On June 3rd, there will be a trip to Aurora to visit the Mackenzie-Childs farmhouse and production facility. Since these are two seperate tours, we're adding a bagged lunch for in between, which can be enjoyed in their gorgeous gardens.

The series of presentations by the Alzheimer's Association has ended for the season and will resume again in September. Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope these presentations were useful and educating.

Once again, the weekend ahead is looking a bit drippy. I'm going to try to get my dahlias into the garden if it's not too wet out. What will you be doing on this ever-more-warm weekend? Mid 70's sounds like lovely temperatures for long walks outside and gathering around fire pits in the evening... Have a good one!

Love,
Anke
