2019 District Spring Camporees
The Oneida District will host the Southern District Spring Camporee at Highland Forest the weekend of May 17-19, inviting Scouts and units from Oneida, Interlakes, Onondaga, and Cayuga Districts. For more information on the Mad Science Camporee , visit the Oneida District webpage and download the latest copy of the participant and leaders' guide.
Also just in, there are service project opportunities; units should coordinate with Christian Borchert before the event by emailing chrisandal@hotmail.com . Interested in learning more about the Life to Eagle process? Steve Fisher will be hosting a short program on how to do just that on Saturday afternoon.
The Ontario District is also hosting a Spring Camporee in Pulaski during the weekend of May 17-19. The theme is Furendezvous and based on the 1800s fur trade era. For more information on the camporee, check out the leaders' guide and other information posted on the Ontario District webpage.
Northern Lights and Tri-Rivers Districts are teaming up to host the 2019 North Country Camporee with a theme of " Caution: Scouts at Play" at the Gouverneur Fairgrounds. Cub Scouts are welcome to attend Saturday, Webelos Scouts are allowed to spend the night Saturday-Sunday with Troop. Guests from other local organizations are scheduled to attend and assist in teaching; they are always willing for extra volunteer help!
Is your district not hosting a Spring Camporee? Want to go somewhere else in the Longhouse Council? Camporees and other district activities are open to all Scouts and Scouters registered in the Boy Scouts of America! Be sure to read the leaders' guides and other information available to you in order to Be Prepared!
Recognize Outstanding Scouters Today!
Do you know of a volunteer that could use some recognition for a job well done? How about someone who goes above and beyond on a regular basis, but seeks out no recognition of their own? There is likely an award that these individuals are qualified to earn, but they are often too humble to apply on their own. As the council prepares to present its Silver Beaver awards, your local district may have some equally-meaningful tokens of appreciation to share at their annual recognition events.

BSA Parents on social media:
NEW Social Media Group for
Scout Parents
We all know how truly amazing our Scouting parents are. They go above and beyond, and they constantly ask what they can do and how they can help.
In many ways, they are our best asset to help demonstrate the value of the Boy Scouts of America and to talk about what this great organization means to American communities.
So, we want to make you all aware of a newly-formed group called “BSA Parents” that is forming and will launch on digital and social media this week.
Check them out HERE
