2022 Wood Badge
Dear Scouter,

Have you ever heard of Wood Badge? When I was just beginning as a leader I hadn't either. I was never a scout, so I needed all the training I could get to be the Scoutmaster the boys deserved. It was the best thing I could have done. It was Total Quality Management for scouting.
Not only are you doing something for the youth, but it’s something you will carry with you for life. On top of the best training possible, you will form friendships that will last forever. You will learn leadership skills, learn to work as a team, and how to provide the best program for youth.
My training set the foundation for my 20+ years as a volunteer and would later allow me to be the best Scout Professional I could be. So if you have any desire to get the greatest scout training, you need to sign up and join the fun.

G Bogs (Gary Bogner)
Retired Senior District Executive.
Citizenship in Society
The new merit badge encourages Scouts to explore important topics around diversity, equity, inclusion and ethical leadership and learn why these qualities are important in society and in Scouting. Beginning July 1, 2022, the Citizenship in Society merit badge will be required for any youth seeking to achieve the prestigious Eagle Scout rank.
Application for merit badge counselors are being accepted now, but this isn't your run of the mill process. Counselors will be put through a rigorous review process and once accepted will be required to attend a special training. Please contact the Service Center for more info.
