ANNUAL EAGLE SCOUT RECOGNITION AND REUNION CELEBRATION
Thursday January 14, 2021 at 7pm
Each year, the Longhouse Council normally hosts a dinner gathering in recognition of the achievements of the year’s Eagle Class. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are not able to gather in person this year due to the public health crisis; however, a virtual celebration has been scheduled for 7pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021.
We will be continuing our recent tradition of inducting one or more older Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated outstanding achievement at the local state or regional level into our Eagle Scout Hall of Fame and our special guest speaker is Robert Ward, Eagle Class of 1975, Set Designer, Stage Manager, Production Prop Head on past Broadway musicals such as Hedwig and the Angry Itch, The Big Fish, and currently, The Book of Mormon .
We will be sending out details on the way you and your family can participate virtually soon. For our 2020 Eagle Scouts you will also be asked to share a short video message.
Please mark your calendars and refer any questions to Dinner Chair, Patrick Rao at patjrao@gmail.com or Ellen Tyler at 315-463-0201, ext. 103.

2021 Re-Charter
2020 has been a year of constant challenges for our Scouting family. As we finish off the year and look forward to a better 2021, units should be preparing for re-charter. To ease the financial challenges and to bring the Council’s re-charter cycle in alinement with the National cycle, we will be short chartering all our units.

So, what does this mean? If your unit normally re-charters in February, instead of re-chartering for 12 months you will re-charter for 10 months at a cost of $85.00 per Scout and $65.00 per adult. If your unit normally re-charters in March, instead of re-chartering for 12 months you will re-charter for nine months at a cost of $76.50 per Scout and $58.50 per adult. Your unit will still re-charter in February or March for 2021, but for your 2022 charter your unit will re-charter in December 2021.
In general, this is a savings of between $17.00 and $25.50 per Scout and $13.00 and $19.50 per adult. We know this is a small drop in the bucket, but every little bit can help. As we get closer to February and March 2021 your District Executive and the Commissioner CORP will reach out to your unit and give a more detailed accounting to your re-charter process.

Finally, as the year comes to a close, we urge your unit to work with your unit Commissioner and your District leadership team to end 2020 as strong as you possible can be.

Thanks for all you do for the youth of our Council. We look forward to continuing to support your unit in 2021.
Yours in Scouting,
Council Commissioner         VP of District Operations   Assistant Scout Executive
James Eklund                        Sean McKenna                         Edwin Theetge
