It is with a heavy heart that I report on the passing of former District Commissioner David Whyte, of Fayetteville, David died August 9, 2021, after a 14 month battle with Glioblastoma (brain cancer). David was a dedicated scouter that held many roles and took many of the jobs no one else wanted. His calm and stoic demeaner was a reassuring presents at many a Round Table or Council Training event. Anyone who met David at a Scouting event knew that he was willing help in any way needed. David will be missed and his passing leaves a hole not easily filled. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 15th from 2-5pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville.
This year, our focus is “weird science”. By participating in day camp, the scouts will learn about the scientific process and how science is used in everyday life. They will have the opportunity to explore beyond the mundane, and perform wacky and fascinating experiments, while at the same time having fun, exploring our natural world, and fostering lasting friendships.
