Message from the Executive Director | |
Happy August, PALM Family!
As we welcome the month of August, we would like to recognize Women's Equality Day on August 26, which commemorates the adoption of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote in the United States.
We honor the triumphs of some of the greatest women in history, such as Rosa Parks, who sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott; Malala Yousafzai, an advocate for girls' education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate; and Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Let’s celebrate these remarkable change-makers!
In our efforts to make a positive impact on Older Adult's lives, Pur standard exciting programs are approaching. PALM's "Ask The" series offers:
-
Ask the Notary: First Monday of the month
- Ask the Nurse: Second Monday of the month
- Ask the Attorney: Second Tuesday of the month
- Ask the Line Dancer: See the schedule
You may join us daily for lunch and enjoy our community offerings. Note that "Lunch and a Movie" has been scheduled for August 24th, from 1 PM to 4 PM, featuring the movie "Bad Boys."
Additionally, PALM has resumed trips! Please see the trip flyers below and sign up quickly, as seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Linvilla Orchard Peach Festival on Saturday, August 10th ($26)
- Shady Maple on Tuesday, August 20th ($20)
- 'Daniel' at Sight and Sound on Wednesday, September 18th ($105)
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming fundraiser and campaign kickoff beginning on October 1, 2024. This exciting event will feature a variety of activities and opportunities to support PALM, including:
- A luncheon with guest speakers and entertainment
- A silent auction with items donated by local businesses
- Special recognition for major donors and contributors
- Opportunities to learn more about PALM’s programs and future plans
Be on the lookout for more information about our fundraising goal and how you can contribute. We hope you will join us in supporting our mission and celebrating our community.
For additional information regarding PALM, membership, or to make a donation, please visit our website at www.PalmSeniors.org. We look forward to seeing you at one of our many activities and thank you for your continued support.
