“Tents and Shelters” has good timing with Thanksgiving.
The second story in the “Tents and Shelters” patch is about the Festival of Booths. Students read in Leviticus how God commanded the Israelites to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot. The festival required the people to live in “booths” or temporary shelters and it is associated with the time of the autumn harvest. It shares a similar spirit to that of Thanksgiving, pausing to give thanks and acknowledge that what we have comes from God.
As you celebrate Thanksgiving this week, may this miniature “booth” (made by Vivian Morgan out of craft sticks) remind us of the lesson from this RP3 patch, that we are commanded by God to remember tough times and to celebrate with joy how God always provides for us.
Thanksgiving Blessings to you!
