OPTCO – New Website
The PTCO is excited to announce that we have a new website at https://www.overlandhsptco.com! The site includes a store where you can purchase all sorts of awesome Blazer gear. A portion of all sales comes back to the school, so please check it out! In addition, the PTCO is hosting a Craft Fair on March 9. More details are on the website. We will be seeking student volunteers to help with set up and clean up. They can earn either volunteer hour credits or money for their clubs. Contact overlandptco@gmail.com for more information.

If you signed up to take the digital administration of the SAT at Overland on March 9, you will need to bring your school-issued laptop. CCSD has installed the required BlueBook app on all school devices. If you bring your personal computer, you must install the BlueBook app from the College Board website.

Community Impact Build Event — Feb 10
Formerly known as ‘Pitch Night,’ this event is a crash course for youth to seek out solutions to community challenges. If you are actively involved in a Changemaker meeting AND/OR have great ideas to make a positive difference in your community, we want to see you at our high-energy and high-impact build day!
About the Event:
This fun Saturday event will guide young people through community visioning exercises to imagine the change they want to make in the world, and youth will leave empowered with a game plan and toolkit to make these ideas a reality.
This year our theme is How can youth lead the change in creating healthier communities? With this in mind, you will go through various activities with other youth to help your ideas become reality. Facilitated by CYL staff and supported by trusted community members and mentors, you will feel more equipped to make change happen.

HOW SICK IS TOO SICK?
This week, I want to address a crucial question: "How Sick is Too Sick?" It's essential to understand when it's best to keep your child at home to prevent the spread of illness and ensure their well-being and the well-being of our school community. Per CDPHE guidelines, there are four main reasons for children and adults to stay home:
- Your student could infect others with a contagious illness, either because of symptoms, a diagnosis, or recent exposure to a contagious illness.
- Your student does not feel well enough to take part in usual activities. For example, a child is overly tired, fussy, or will not stop crying.
- Your student needs more care than teachers and staff can give while still caring for the other children.

Your student has symptoms or an illness on this list, and staying home is required.
Flu and COVID Prevention
One of the most effective ways to protect your child and our school community from the flu is by getting a flu shot. We strongly recommend contacting your healthcare provider to inquire if the flu shot is available and recommended for your child. Additionally, staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations and following public health guidelines, such as mask-wearing and social distancing, can help reduce the risk of transmission of both the flu and COVID-19.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a healthy learning environment for all students. Your partnership is essential in keeping our school community safe and well.
