OUTREACH Prayer Update
September 2015

Our church planters depend on the prayers and encouragement of God's people. OUTREACH NORTH AMERICA provides this monthly prayer letter to inform you of some of their specific needs and praises so you will know better how to pray for them. Thank you for your prayers and the interest you show by your phone and e-mail responses. Your prayers truly encourage your church planters. (See the bottom of this e-mail for a summary of all the mission churches included in this update.)

In general

• Pray for our presbyteries as they will be meeting this month and next.

• Pray for the Korean ARP pastors retreat in Charlotte at the end of September.

• Pray for CPAC (Church Planters Assessment Center) at the end of the month.

• Pray for our 4 interns as we give them some training and gather for prayer and encouragement.

• We are thankful to God's answered prayers. We have seen the work continue to grow so that our current building can no longer hold us. God has also provided us a church building. The owner asks only that we pay the utilities. There is no rent!

Pray

• Please pray that the Lord would provide for us financially. We have seen our tithes and offerings grow but we are not nearly at a place where we can sustain ourselves.
• Pray for unity among us as we grow.
• Pray for the work of evangelism that continues. Pray especially for Ronnie, who is deeply discouraged and struggling in his walk with God. Pray that he would come back to Sunday worship. Pray for Emily that she would have the courage to come to church. Please also pray for Chris and Michelle who are taking membership classes and Jay who no longer attends church.

Catawba Presbytery

River Crossing ARP, York County, SC

Rev. David and Emily Stover  Stoverdavid@hotmail.com

Praise

• We have had a remarkable summer. We've averaged around 25 people each Sunday over the summer months. Our community group has been consistent and we've grown in our prayer life as a church. We've seen God answer in a lot of ways.
• We have two outreach events. Two of these will have passed by the time this update goes, but please pray for the fruit of our work.

1. We partnered with RUF at Winthrop to help freshmen move in Friday, August 21. We passed out bottles of water to students and parents.
2. We will have a table at Winthrop's convocation on Monday, August 24. An integrated marketing student used her skills to design an invitation card that we will distribute to invite students to an apologetic Bible study.

Pray

• September 13 is National Back to Church Sunday. It is also our 2nd birthday as a mission church of Catawba Presbytery and ONA. Lots of our folks are praying, inviting, and handing out invitations to those around us.
• Pray for our daughter (the Stover's) Katelyn. She is currently teaching English in southern region of South Korea. Conflict is increasing between South and North Korea. Pray for peace between the two countries. Katelyn is scheduled to return to the US on September 17.
• Pray for a friend that Emily Stover will meet with this week that needs Christ.
• Pray that the Lord will continue to provide financial resources for the coming year.
• We are continuing to search for a new place to meet closer to the area where 90% of our regular attenders live.

Praise

• We are beginning our first semester of X-cell-erate discipleship training on September 10. We have 7 people who are ready to be trained and are growing as disciples!
• We are seeing God build stronger ties between us and Cypress Lake Middle School (where we meet). God is showing us favor in our relationship with them. I have an opportunity to begin some work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at CLMS.
• We are continuing to see life change, as people are walking-out their faith in their daily lives. This is exciting to see.

Pray

• This fall is a critical time for us. We need to see physical growth, as well as continued spiritual growth, as we move into September.
• Please pray for the X-cell-erate discipleship training starting in September. Jesus has called us to make disciples – this is the heart of what we are committed to do. Pray for protection for Kurt, Liz, Angeline, Tom, Shannon, Nina, and Heather as they begin the adventure!

Praise

• Summer attendance was better than we expected.
• People are being encouraged by the gospel.

Pray

• We are now meeting weekly, which is encouraging, but puts a strain on our small core group who are carrying many different responsibilities. Please pray that more people would join us with a willing spirit to serve. Pray particularly for help with our Young Worshipers in Training Program. Please pray also that unbelievers and hurting Christians would find us and through us, find Christ.
• Our intern, Lincoln Larsen, has now moved to the area to begin his seminary studies. Please pray for Lincoln and his wife Emma as they adjust to new situations and new responsibilities, with seminary and work.
• We have a joint Women's retreat with our mother Church, Christ Presbyterian in Grove City on September 18-20. Barb Duguid will be the speaker. Please pray that many hearts would be touched and for close relationships to be formed between the two churches.
