- OUTREACH
Prayer Update
February 2015
-
- Our church planters depend
on the prayers and encouragement of God's people. OUTREACH NORTH
AMERICA provides this monthly prayer letter to inform you of some of
their specific needs and praises so you will know better how to pray
for them. Thank you for your prayers and the
interest you show by your phone and e-mail responses. Your prayers
truly encourage your church planters. (See the bottom of this
e-mail for a summary of all the mission churches included in this
update.)
-
- For Christ’s love compels us ... be reconciled to
God. (2 Corinthians
5:14, 20)
- Pray for the Church
Planters Assessment Center (CPAC) March 11-14.
- Pray for preparations
for the ONA Board Meeting in April.
- Pray for the new church
plants and planters to have excitement and energy.
- If you would like to
support individual missions, you can donate to them on the ONA
website http://www.outreachnorthamerica.org/donate-individual-missions/.

King’s Parish, Dallas, Texas
- Rev. David and
Margaret Winburne david@kingsparish.com
- Pray
- That the other church
plant that has been regularly attending our worship service and
normally scheduled events (ladies meetings, men's meetings and our
Parish Feasts), would call our mission church their home. I would
LOVE to see a bigger body of Christ that has a passion for the Lord
and His work in our city.

- RiverCrossing ARP, York
County, SC
- Rev. David and Emily
Stover Stoverdavid@hotmail.com
Zach Simmons (intern)
- Praise
- We’re
thankful for the ONA sponsored church planters retreat that we
attended in early January. We were challenged, encouraged, and
refreshed!
- The Lord
raised up a new Provisional Session elder from First ARP in Rock
Hill. We’re very thankful for their support.
- We have
several new people attending: a single lady from the Steele Creek
area, our neighbors across the street, 4 Winthrop students, and a
friend of mine from high school. I invited my friend from high
school to come and take photos for our website renovations. She
stayed for the whole service and emailed both Emily and me back to
let us know that she was encouraged and will possibly come back
for another visit.
- Our oldest
daughter Katelyn is halfway through her yearlong commitment to
teach English in South Korea. Her boyfriend left for Guam in early
January to serve as an engineer with Trans World Radio for a year.
On his way to Guam, he stopped by South Korea and proposed to her!
They are planning a March, 2016 wedding!
- We have
several outreach opportunities with First Friday Ft. Mill (a
monthly event they sponsor to raise money for local charities).
Our church was recognized as the most supportive volunteer group
at last month’s event. I met one of the food truck vendors that
recently relocated to Ft. Mill. He was encouraged that our church
is involved. They may come for a visit this Sunday.
- Pray
- Pray for
the men from our church who coach men at the pregnancy center in
Rock Hill and Lake Wylie. We are having lots of opportunities to
help save the lives of the unborn by encouraging the fathers to
choose life. This also leads to many opportunities to share the
gospel with these young men.
- We are
working on an outreach event at Starbucks in Ft. Mill. Pray as we
work out the details and that the Starbucks managers would allow
us to host an event at their coffee shop.
- RiverCrossing,
Hill City, and several other church plant leaders met Jan. 30 to
brainstorm on outreach events for Easter.
- Pray for our intern,
Zach Simmons as he begins a new semester at RTS Charlotte, begins a
new community group, and works to form a worship team from some of
the new attendees that have musical skills.
- My wife,
Emily is involved in a community outreach to ladies in our area.
Pray for the “If Gathering” event.
- Pray for
us to find new renters for our house in Delaware. The current
renters may have to move out in April or May.
- Thanks so much to all of
you that faithfully pray for all of us church planters in the ARP
church!

- Pray
- Please pray that God
would help us gather non-believers to our Bible studies and
services.
- Please pray that God would
bring conversions.
- Please pray that God would
connect us with people in the Charleston area who are looking for a
church.
- Please pray that we
would be able to raise the necessary funds to keep moving forward in
the church planting process (specifically over the next 36 months).
- If you know someone who
lives in the Charleston area please email us! We'd love to meet
them!

Brookside Presbyterian Church, ARP, Boone, NC
- Rev. Larry and Joyce
Young drlarryyoung@msn.com
www.BooneBrooksideChurch.org
Praise
- For a new attender.
- For reverent, heartfelt
worship services.
- For a good start to the
New Year.
- Prayer
- For visitors who will
return and continue to attend.
- For a fresh outpouring
of the Holy Spirit worldwide in 2015.
- For our nation's
deliverance from the assault on marriage and family.
-
- Christ Coastal Church,
Southport, NC
- Rev. Walt and Val
Shepard waltshepard@gmail.com
- Pray
- For Walt as he has had
his hands full with some family issues. His first cousin, with whom
he was very close, was murdered in Jackson, MS.
- Continue to pray for our
outreach book club that informs many unchurched people about Islam.
Walt challenged an Imam who was making a presentation at the local
Episcopal Church. We are hoping for good repercussions from that
exchange.
- Join us in praying for a
youth/music person. It is our plea that the Lord can match us up
with a team of college or even high school youths who are trained in
beach evangelism for this summer.
- Pray for our counseling
load. There are many depressed, hurting folks who have no interest
in a church home, but freely admit their lives are wrecked and want
help. Huge opportunities for the gospel are surfacing. Some of our
own folks in our gathering are asking for help as well.
- Praise
- We praise the Lord for a
wonderful time of encouragement in Jacksonville early in January, as
guests of ONA.
- Thank you for praying
with us!
Grace Church Leith, Leith, Scotland
Rev. Athole Rennie athole@gracechurchleith.org
Andrew and Helen Court, Intern
www.gracechurchleith.org
- Praise
- There are so many
stories of God's grace in each of these lives and so much evidence
of answered prayer.
- Thank you for continuing
to uplift us, we know that your prayers are essential to the
continued witness of the church here in Leith.
- I wanted to share a
picture of the church family you've faithfully been praying for over
the past five years. This picture was taken this past weekend at our
annual church retreat.

God's will and direction for Christ Community Church.
- Pray for our efforts to
reach out to young adults.
- Pray for leaders.
-
- Renew Church, Fort
Myers, FL
- Rev. Steve and Rachel
Reynolds scr@outlook.com
- Praises
- We have hired a new
worship leader. He is an amazing asset to the Renew team. He has a
real heart for God and exceptional music/ worship leadership gifts.
- We are now beginning (in
February) our Kid’s Club at Horizons (government housing) to teach
Gospel-based character education to children. This has been a prayer
requests of ours and our strong desire to be able to bring the
Gospel to Horizons!
- We have had many
churches and individuals step up and give, as our funding from ONA
and Florida Presbytery is winding down. We thank God for His
provision!
- Pray
- Rachel’s brother
unexpectedly died this past Friday. He was only 57. We are
thankful that he is with Jesus now, but are grieving his loss.
Please pray for Rachel and for her brother Tom’s family.
- We are preparing a
mailing into the community to “bump” momentum as we fly through the
first quarter of 2015. God has used mailings to peak interest and
bring people to Renew. Pray that people would receive the mailing
and that it would turn their attention to Jesus!
- We have made a
transition in our meeting place to a less expensive part of Cypress
Lake Middle School. The flow works well, but we are trying to
optimize the facility for our worship time.

- Good News Presbyterian
Church, Gilbert, AZ
Rev. Clyde and Ann Reed clydeannreed@gmail.com
www.goodnewspres.com
- Praise
- The Supreme Court case,
"Reed v. Town of Gilbert" about temporary church signs went
well. The Alliance Defending Freedom and the media were optimistic
that we won. The court has until June to render their decision.
- God was very gracious in
allowing us to rent Gilbert Elementary School for worship.
Our first service was January 11, the day we flew to D.C. Had we not
had a facility where we needed to put out signs before
our hearing on the January 12, Gilbert could have requested
dismissal of the case.
- Pray
- Sunday, January 25, our
Clerk of Session, John Dase, died after a gallant fight with cancer.
He began attending Good News soon after we started and became a
member of our Provisional Session. His tenor voice and solos were
very appreciated.
- Our new location is on a
main street and easily located. Please pray that God will use our
signs and invitations to bring in some new folks.
