Praises
- King's Parish had MANY visitors recently because of a covenant child's baptism. Of course many unconverted/nominal family members showed up (at least 30)! The gospel was preached and many unbelievers/family members said to others, and me ?that was the most profound religious experience I have ever had." I Samuel 8 can be preached with relevance and accuracy. It was a wonderful Lord's Day!
-
Prayer
- We are ready and willing to become a self-sufficient church. Church planting stuff is HARD WORK! We have good men who desire to be ordained as ARP elders, but our funds are a bit short. Pray for our finances and continued faithfulness.
- Also, keep praying for those we are all working on to come to Christ. Your prayers are highly valued. Thank you dear ones for devotion to the Lord's work through church planting. We NEED and covet your prayers! My love and affection to you!

Renew Church, Fort Myers, FL

-
Praises
- We are seeing our ministry in Horizons (government housing) gain traction. We are involved in Kid?s Club there ? teaching distinctly Christian lessons. We also participate in the more community-oriented movie nights. We have even had some residents contribute financially to the church because of our faithfulness and our passion for the community.
- Our discipleship process is taking shape and people are getting involved with moving forward with Christ.
- Our relationship with the school where we meet is deepening. Our hope is to be able to be an ?aroma of Christ? to the faculty, staff and students at this school!
-
Pray
- We are experiencing a ?summer dip? in both giving and attendance. Summers are difficult in many churches and can be very discouraging in church plants. Pray for God to carry us through the rest of the summer encouraged and for us to grow during these months.
- We need to gain some traction and move forward with growth in our community, but sometimes it feels like we are stuck at points. Pray for new guests to join us at Renew and ?stick? with us in growth/planting process.
- I would be remiss if I did not ask for prayer for our very fractured nation. Particularly with the recent Supreme Court decision regarding gay marriage. Pray for churches of various denominations across America to stand firm on God?s word and for us to respond in love to those who seek to redefine not only marriage, but basic morality.

Praise
- The Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favor for Good News Presbyteian Church?s free speech rights. A local ordinance that blocked them from maintaining signs advertising its services was found to be a violation of free speech. You can read the background story and original ARP News post from January 2015 here.
- The mayor (a Mormon), town manager, a councilman and his wife (all Catholics), our Alliance Defending Freedom lawyer and his wife and 3 children, plus a couple we had met years ago and a man from Virginia visiting friends here who read about it, were all in attendance Sunday. Our lawyer gave a short report on the focus of our case; the mayor explained that the town was not against churches.
- The following was part of a letter from someone in our congregation written the day after this service:
-
"Sunday was a red letter day for me. I don't ever remember a day I left church feeling quite like I did after the first service. In that plain, austere band room almost filled to capacity, a miracle was taking place. Every chair was occupied with an untimely, improbable group of people. There were unexpected guests, members, friends, Mormons, Catholics, Presbyterians and perhaps even atheists or unbelievers. There were winners and there were the losers. Some came regularly, some were just curious, some involved in the litigation, and the losers, who requested to be there? glory went to God.?
-
Pray
- That God would direct in the implementation of the court's decision across the U.S. and that this may further the church's outreach for His Kingdom.
- For the Alliance Defending Freedom and the other Christian legal groups in deciding what cases to litigate, how to frame their arguments, and His blessing in the lives of the thousands behind the scenes involved in research, secretarial responsibilities, public relations, etc.
- For God's guidance for our search committee.
