February 2024

Museum Exhibit Closing

After twelve months and thousands of visitors, the first iteration (not the last) of our museum exhibit is closing on February 18th, 2024 at the Museum of Natural History in Eugene. All are invited to the Closing Weekend Celebration on February 17 and February 18th. February 18th (Sunday) includes fun take-aways, views of the documentary, and special treats

Thank you for attending our many talks and events, or for spending time on your own in the exhibit hall one quiet day over this last year.

Our Storytelling event has been rescheduled!

Join us on March 14th, 2024 at 6pm at the The Museum of Natural and Cultural History with storytellers Sarah Douglas, Lynn Pinckney, PJ Rees, and Shayna Meltzer, moderated by Judith Raiskin.

Decades of dynamic LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff made a big impact on the University of Oregon campus and in Eugene. Come hear former and current UO faculty and students reflect on their efforts to create community and fight discrimination, and how those efforts are reflected in campus life today.

Film and Digital Archive Updates

While the physical exhibit (at our first museum) is closing, our Digital Exhibit remains online and available for you to enjoy. Please take time to explore the many video clips, image galleries, stories and links.

A film is a journey. And telling a story involving hundreds of Eugene lesbians over many decades is complex and, we recognize, a selective process. In our feature film Outliers and Outlaws we highlight nine women, our Narrators, who help bring the story of the impactful and groundbreaking past of the Eugene Lesbians to the present.

Now in the editing stage, we hope to release our film next Winter. And we need your support to get to the finish line! Our crowd-funding campaign hosted by the University of Oregon is in the home stretch. Please join over 70 donors by donating before February 23rd, 2024. Watch Judith's video describing the film and how your tax-deductible donation will make a difference. All donors will be credited in the final film, on screen.
