August days and nights are meant for al fresco dining, attending outdoor events like a sweet corn festival and a venetian boat parade, visiting a nature area, lounging on a beach, fishing on a Great Lake, and more fun in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Plus a long Labor Day weekend at the end of the month gives you extra time to explore our community before summer unofficially ends!

KENOSHA COUNTY FAIR

“Hay Bales & Cow Tails” is the theme of this year’s fair, August 14-18. Enjoy concerts, family entertainment, a midway, contests, a children’s parade, fireworks (on Friday), a petting zoo, dirt track car races, truck & tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and much more.

JAZZ TICKETS ON SALE

One of many music events happening this month, HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival is August 17. The music lineup includes Ben Woods & Friends, Demetria Taylor Blues Band, Christopher’s Project featuring an all new Steppers/Line dancing set, and Jonathan Butler (shown).

AL FRESCO DINING

Pull up a seat at a restaurant’s sidewalk, garden, patio, deck, backyard, or rooftop before the tables and chairs are packed away for the winter. At some places, your meal or drinks are served with a view like Lake Michigan or Downtown Kenosha. The newest rooftop hot spot is at Church & Market (shown).

LABOR DAY WEEKEND

August 31-September 2 is the season finale for Bristol Renaissance Faire (shown). See classic cars fill the streets of Downtown Kenosha for the Kenosha Classic Cruise-In on August 31. The final Aquanut Water Show of the season is August 31. September 1 is the Southern Wisconsin All Airborne Chapter Car Show.
