Message from the Principal

SAS families,

We had our accreditation visit last Wednesday and the visiting team for our revisit commended our staff on a very successful implementation of our goals from our last accreditation. They were very impressed with three principals in the past three years how far the school has progressed. This is a testament to what great teachers and leadership team there is present at St. Anthony's school. This is a huge accomplishment.

There are a few reminders we have coming up:

1. All new families interested in Preschool, TK, and K, please attend our information night March 4th at 6pm in the Social Hall. You will get to meet our team and our new preschool director that has over 20 years of director experience.

2. Our first AG meeting will be on March 6th for K-2 grades from 3:15-4pm and March 7th for 3-6 grades from 3:15-4pm. We are looking forward to teaching our students about plants and we have hands on activities for them as well! This is a start of an exciting program on our campus.

3. Reminder- Please let us know by this Friday, March 1st, if you are not returning to our school next year. We have families on the wait list that are eager to enroll and become a St. Anthony's family.

Finally, a big congratulations to our 2nd grade students on receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation.

With gratitude,

Mrs. Chambers

Read-A-Thon (March 4th - March 29th) - Register Today!

Calling all reader rabbits...the Read-A-Thon presents a fantastic opportunity to involve our friends, family, and neighbors in supporting St. Anthony's School. Don't delay—register your reader today using the link provided above to ensure that they're ready to start reading and raising on March 4th!

Weekly classroom prizes will be distributed based on two key metrics: the most minutes read and the most funds raised. Classrooms will be categorized into three groups to ensure fair competition and numbers will be averaged to account for different class sizes. The classroom breakdown follows:

  1. Pre-K, TK, & Kindergarten
  2. Grades 1-3
  3. Grades 4-6

By dividing classrooms into these groups, we aim to create an equitable playing field where each class has the opportunity to excel and be rewarded for their efforts in both reading engagement and fundraising prowess.

During the Read-A-Thon, students will also have the opportunity to earn individual prizes, ranging from coveted privileges like free dress days to valuable rewards like homework passes. Additionally, participants can accumulate up to 18 raffle tickets, each representing a chance to win the sought-after $200 Visa gift card at the contest's culmination (drawing on April 8th).

To earn these rewards, students will aim to meet specific benchmarks in both reading engagement and fundraising efforts. These benchmarks are as follows:

For minutes read:

  • 375 minutes
  • 750 minutes
  • 1500 minutes

For money raised:

  • $50
  • $150
  • $300

By striving to achieve these milestones, students not only enhance their reading skills and contribute to a worthy cause, but also stand a chance to win exciting prizes that recognize their dedication and achievements throughout the Read-A-Thon. Let's support and encourage them as they embark on this rewarding journey!

Take note: even if your reader is young, you can include the minutes someone else spends reading to them. So, let's make this Read-A-Thon a resounding success for all involved!

Preschool/T-K/Kinder Information Night - March 4th

Book Fair - March 4-8th

We will be having our Spring Scholastic Book Fair, March 4th - March 8th. The book fair will be open daily from 7:30-8:00 am and 3:00-4:00 pm in the library. New books are great any day of the year, but especially fun when you're in the middle of a Read-A-Thon! We will only be accepting credit/debit cards and checks made payable to SAS. Thank you for supporting our readers.

Upcoming Events

St. Anthony's Golf Tournament

Don't forget, the St. Anthony's Caddyshack Classic Golf Tournament is happening this Saturday, March 2nd, with check in starting at 2 pm and tee-off at 3:00 pm sharp! Rain or shine, we're teeing off, but leave your umbrellas at home because we've got you covered!

If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll move the fun to the covered Top Tracer bays and play all 18 holes on the course of your choice. Playing 18 on the Top Tracer means you're closer to the bar – a definite upside! It's going to be a blast, no matter what Mother Nature throws our way!

If you've been snoozing on registering, wake up! There are only two foursomes left, so secure your spot now. And to everyone who's already signed up, we can't wait to see you there for an epic day of golf and good times!
