LEGISLATIVE UPDATE

Chips bill (64-32) to bolster local semiconductor manufacturing

The U.S. Senate voted in favor of the chips bill (64-32) on Tuesday to bolster local semiconductor manufacturing. The bipartisan bill will pave the way for providing nearly $280 billion in various incentives for U.S-based chip making. This is a vital step toward enacting legislation that will strengthen domestic chip production, economic growth and job creation, supply chain resilience, and national security. A version of this bill passed the Senate last year but was stalled in the House, where it now heads before the August recess.

Semiconductors are essential to nearly every sector of the economy, including aerospace, automobiles, communications, clean energy, information technology, and medical devices. It's crucial that we urge the House to enact this important legislation! Call your legislators today.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) has announced the opening of the next round on July 25, 2022, through August 19, 2022.

The RACP is a grant program administered by Pennsylvania’s Office of the Budget for acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. Funding supports programs that have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact and seek to support and increase employment, tax levels, and other economic activity. Each year Pennsylvania provides funding for more than one round of the program and applicants are encouraged to review the program’s website where valuable information can be found to see if your project would be a good fit. If you have questions about whether or not you believe your project or program is a good fit for application, please let us know! We are happy to talk it through!

To supplement the application, and to provide support for the positive regional impact, letters from organizations like ours, the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry or your local elected officials, are important. We would encourage you to pursue additional letters of support from the State Representative and State Senator where the project takes place – and we are more than happy to help make these connections for you! Please let us know if you plan to pursue ANY grants within the Chester County region and we will welcome the opportunity to be helpful.

Please visit the Commonwealth’s RACP site by clicking HERE.  In addition to procedures, requirements, timelines, etc., interested visitors may also review lists of previous awardees.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

iCore Fitness

iCore Fitness has been using its multifaceted exercise facility and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) methods to train people, children and larger groups across Chester County for the last decade. Their gym is split into four parts including a full scale Ninja Warrior Course, a parkour and tumbling area, indoor rock climbing wall and weightlifting area. iCore uses all four sectors of their gym to train, entertain and motivate its customers using difficult obstacles to boost progress.

iCore Fitness is clearly not your typical gym. It offers more than the normal weightlifting training that most other gyms offer . They host challenging training sessions for adults, camps and parties for kids and “open gym” periods for its members. iCore’s group training sessions consist of a few different options including obstacle course race and outdoor turf training. For Children, iCore is a popular spot for birthday parties and camps mostly because of their “ninja” programs and events. For a younger generation of fans of the show “American Ninja Warrior”, iCore’s Ninja Warrior course gives kids the opportunity to finally experience obstacles similar to the show in their own lives. For members of the gym, the open gym period offers a time for free reign across the rockwall, ninja and parkour areas for a two hour span during the afternoon.

Are you looking for new ways to get back into shape or maintain your physique? Look no further than iCore Fitness. A gym whose bottom line is getting its members fit while having fun.
