$50 Rebate on Lincoln Auto-Darkening Helmets
Between now and December 31st, Lincoln Electric is offering a $50 rebate on its most popular auto-darkening welding helmets. Stop by your local Airweld, Atlantic Welding or Bronx Welding branch to check out the helmets and find out more about this exciting fourth quarter offer!
Our question this month comes from Philip C. of Hauppauge. He asks:
Dear Answerman: The other day, I told one of my welders to reposition his ground clamp and he corrected me, saying that it is called a work clamp and not a ground clamp. I've been welding for thirty years and have always called this a ground clamp. Who is right?

Dear Philip: Actually, your welder is! Some of the expressions and slang used over the years in the welding industry are actually misused. In electrical terms, the word "ground" implies an electrical connection to the earth. In a welding circuit, the "ground" is actually the work connection. Welding manufacturers are now labeling this side of the connection on their power supplies as "work" and the clamps are work clamps. Give your welder an "A" for accuracy!

Do you have a question for the Airweld Answerman? Email your question to theanswerman@airweld.net and if your question is selected, you will win an Airweld t-shirt. Thanks to Philip for his question.

Meet Todd Jensen
Congratulations to Todd Jensen on his promotion to Branch Manager of our Alabama Avenue, Brooklyn, store! A fourteen year Airweld veteran, Todd says the secret to his success is continuously learning about the latest in gas and welding technology to better serve the customer. "When I'm on top of our customer's needs, they leave with smiles on their faces and keep coming back," Todd beamed. This devoted father of an eleven year-old enjoys sharing sports with his son as well as yard work and going to the gym. "TJ", as his friends call him, is also a gifted poet, musician and rapper who excites listeners with his Rap, R&B and Gospel stylings.
Meet Zach Biedermann
Zach Biedermann has Airweld in his blood, literally! The son of Airweld Vice President Tom Biedermann, Zach started working part-time for the company in 2007 while still in high school. His twelve years with the company have taught him the importance of customer service. "We pride ourselves on not just meeting but exceeding customer expectations," Zach emphasized. "Knowledge of the industry and its unique technology is also key, so I take every opportunity to study and bring what I've learned to our customers," he added. In his spare time, Zach loves to engage in several sports including softball, basketball and flag football and is a budding "smokemaster" and chef.
