We are taking this time today to offer our loving tribute to Sharon Robbins.  We can't express how much she has meant to HTP, and every day we feel the void she has left.  Sharon worked so hard to help promote her love and passion for Healing Touch, as well as her passion for life.  We invite you to take the time to watch our tribute video, as well as the video from her skit at this year's Healing Touch Worldwide Conference in Chicago.

There aren't enough words to express our love for Sharon, but we have included a few loving words from those who have been touched by her amazing presence. We will miss you Sharon.

Dear Healing Touch Program Community,

I was working with Sharon this last year on ways for our communities to collaborate. I so enjoyed my time with her. I loved her openness, her creativity, her authenticity, her honesty, and the fun we had as we created ways forward together. Sharon began taking our coaching program so that was another connection with her. I was shocked and sad when I heard of her death.

I wanted our community to reach out to your community as a way of honoring her and as a way of supporting you during this time. We would like to offer:

* a one-hour telephone session that explores myths about grief work, the concept of a "Grief case", tools that help in processing grief. These tools can be used by you and also by your clients. These sessions will be limited to 75 people. This same content will be offered on:

* Wednesday, November 5 at 5pm pacific, 6pm mountain, 7pm central, and 8pm eastern

* Monday, November 10 at 5pm pacific, 6pm mountain, 7pm central, and 8pm eastern

* To register, please click HERE

Here are two other resources:

* a website that allows people to light a candle in honor of Sharon. gratefulness.org website.

* There are more than 400 harpists from around the world who are International Harp Therapy Program graduates and playing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" each Sunday at 5pm wherever you are. This came about because this harpist community would play it and "send it energetically" to those who were in need of special healing within the group) for anyone who needs prayers, energy and positive intentions.

All the best from our community,

Loving Words

We have been overwhelmed by the flood of kind words we have received for Sharon. We wanted to take the opportunity to include some of them here.

Honoring Sharon

Adapted from A Psalm for the Dying by Edward hays in Prayers for a Planetary Pilgrim: A Personal annual for Prayer and Ritual (1989), Peace Publishing Inc.

Friends....I leave myself...to your memory with love.

I leave my thoughts, my laughter, my dreams to you whom I have treasured beyond gold and precious gems. I give you what no thief can steal, the memories of our times together: the tender, love-filled moments, the successes we have shared, the hard times that brought us closer together and the roads we have walked side by side.

I also leave you a solemn promise that after I am home in the bosom of God, I will still be present, whenever and wherever you call on me. My energy will be drawn to you by the magnet of our love. Whenever you are in need, call on me. I will come to you with my arms full of wisdom and light to open up your blocked paths, to untangle your knots and to be your avenue to God.

And all I take with me as I leave is your love and the millions of memories of all that we have shared. So I truly enter my new life as a millionaire.

Fear not nor grieve at my departure, you whom I have loved so much, for my roots and yours are forever interwoven

"The Healing Touch California community is deeply saddened by the passing of our founder Sharon Robbins, RN, HN-BC, CCHt, HTCP, who made her transition early Sunday morning, August 17, 2014. On her last day on earth she was at the 2014 Healing Touch Worldwide Conference in Schaumburg, Illinois, surrounded by over 350 HT practitioners and friends, celebrating what she loved.  On Friday evening at the conference, Sharon had dressed up as a fairy Godmother and wore angel wings for a skit she was in about being a professional healer. She looked radiant. She will be dearly missed."

"Sharon Robbins loss has deeply affected the Healing Touch community. We all grieve her loss and at the same time want to honor all that she contributed to the Healing Touch community. Her beauty, enthusiasm, compassion, and generous spirit were an inspiration to us all. Her work will continue to inspire and touch our lives. Sharon Robbins volunteered to be on the Healing Touch Worldwide Foundation Board in 2006. She primarily served on the Marketing Committee. Her term of service with the board was scheduled to end Nov. 1st of this year. Sharon was serious and to the point, but also quick to laugh and loved being an integral part of our meetings.
Her most significant contribution to the Foundation was formulating a dedicated fund for the Healing Touch Professional Association in order to support the "stand-downs" by which military veterans could benefit from Healing Touch sessions. Sharon worked closely with the Foundation to ensure that the vision matched HTWF's. The Healing Touch Worldwide Foundation continues to support HTPA by housing its funds for this purpose. Sharon's plan for this fund was to also support disaster relief. As new members joined the board, Sharon was there to support and encourage them.
"Sharon was one of my biggest cheerleaders"
"She was friendly, warm, professional and compassionate"
"Sharon had a knack for getting to the point"
"As a new board member to HTWF, Sharon welcomed me with open arms"
"I feel blessed for the time I spent with her"
"I feel so blessed to have met and known Sharon"
"She supported all our events with eagerness; wanting to make sure she contributed"
"Sharon was dynamic, intelligent, and supportive"
Sharon will always be remembered in our hearts. We will miss her dearly. Let us honor her memory by supporting the work she loved and the passion she had for the Healing Touch community by starting a chapter or making a contribution to the HTPA fund.
Thank you Sharon, we love you!"

"I am grateful to have known Sharon for many years and to have shared with her an early vision of a "Business Council" for HTP. (back then the Colorado Center for Healing Touch). Janet supported us but back in 2001 or 2002 but communication throughout the community was mostly through a mailed out newsletter! It was so fulfilling to see how far these early ideas later took off with Sharon at the helm! With the support of the Healing Touch Program and technology Sharon moved support to a whole new level! We will all continue to benefit from Sharon's dedication, enthusiasm, kindness, wisdom, and expertise. In our recent community gathering many practitioners and apprentices shared that even though they never met Sharon in person, through the HTPA conference calls her warmth, kind nature, and enthusiasm for healing touch was encouraging and appreciated . I honor Sharon and our community honors Sharon. Sharon touched many lives and is greatly missed."

"This is from Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet. I read it at my mother's wake...

On Death

Than Almitra spoke, saying, "We would ask now of Death."
And he said:
You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the sheered not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink form the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."

-Susan Emily Russell

"I am so grateful to have been Sharon's friend and to have shared so many wonderful experiences with her. In addition to being a tireless worker for HTPA she had a deep desire to make people laugh. We were going to go up to LA and take some improvisational comedy classes together but we never made it. She was a creative soul and a clever writer and she cast me in the skit she wrote for the HTP conference in Chicago. I was the door. I was a terrible door because I couldn't stop laughing. Thank you, Sharon, and I offer this Gaelic Blessing to you:

Deep Peace
of the running wave to you
Deep Peace
of the flowing air to you
Deep Peace
of the quiet earth to you
Deep Peace
of the shining stars to you
Deep Peace
of the gentle night to you,
moon and stars pour their healing light on you

Deep Peace to you"

"I continue to reel from the shock of learning of Sharon's death during conference.
I continue to feel awestruck by the impact she had on so many. She was a soft spoken yet outspoken, demure, kind, passionate, humble but mighty woman...determined, passionate about health and healing and loving to all she came in contact with. Others have mentioned her ability to make any individual she came in contact with feel as if they were the only person in the room. She was ever present and engaged. She modeled community and inclusivity always even when faced with personal tragedy.
The last time we spoke, she was sharing her pride and joy about being able to bring her message about professionalism to our Healing Touch community with humor and laughter in the skit I was honored to help her with. I was so proud of her. Being "out there" was not one of her comfort zones. She didn't like bringing attention to herself but rather to the work....again she showed humility but she so loved to have fun.
I will miss her grace, her smile and her commitment to creating relationships in healing. The Healing Touch community has a large hole in it but a magnificent role model to follow.
I will miss her and send my love to all those who knew her longer and better than I. Thank you to all for sharing your words. I have found them comforting. I know she is in the company of the angels."

-Kathy Moreland (Layte)

"Sharon's Passing was premature and unwelcome. She was too young; she had much much more to offer Life. From my perspective, Sharon was an Old Soul-compassion and empathy came easily to her-people could share with her and consider her one of their "closest friends" because she was knew the power of Presence and knew the value of Relationship and Empowerment-for women and nurses, in particular.

Sharon had a palpable grace and elegance to her quietness. It seems to me her "agenda" was always for Healing Touch Program to thrive and that meant helping each individual member thrive-What a perfect position for her to invent and cultivate than HTPA. And it does thrive!

My honoring to Sharon is to promise her spirit and mine to:

1) Show up-Say 'Yes" to doing what is mine to do to grow myself and this amazing organization into our highest potentials

2) Be honest and authentic-Sharon had no "hidden agendas" or need to shine her ego for recognition. Sharon was Sharon and invited each of us to be our own lights-Like Rumi's words at the end of Dawn's email, Sharon was so comfortable in her own Light.

May we create more peace....more prosperity....more enthusiasm and zest for life...Because we hold Sharon's memories and her Brightness in our hearts, forever."

-Barbara Starke

"How can I ever describe in words to our community the role Sharon played in my life? Our deep friendship began in 2007 when she challenged me to be a strong leader for HTP ("No more Mouse!!"). Along with her challenge came her vow to support me, which she always did. We have stayed in each other's homes many times, and I just had a three day overnight with her in early August. She was my biggest advocate, dearest friend, trusted colleague and soul sister. We had deep conversations about prayer, spirituality and the afterlife, as I had supported her during the loss of her two brothers and beloved husband Arthur, who died 18 months ago. Sharon always spoke her truth to me and did not mince her words, yet she could deliver a strong message gently and with unconditional love. When she had a different opinion or felt that I wasn't see things clearly, she did not hold back. In this way, she was a true friend. On top of this all, I could count on her sense of humor during challenging times. She encouraged me to be my true, authentic self and to expand my gifts in new ways, including offering retreats, writing, sacred geometry and body prayer workshops, and to not worry about what other people would think when I jumped up and down on stage with enthusiasm at HT events. Thank you Sharon! You have been my best cheerleader! Now you are on the other side helping me/us along with Dorothea Hover-Kramer and Janet.... I will keep listening for your sweet voice...

In terms of her service to our community, she was a staunch advocate of empowering our practitioners through tools, resources, professional affiliations and self-development. She shared everything she knew and would go out of her way to help anyone and everyone. She consistently worked beyond her committed HTPA hours because she had such a passion for serving us all. Sharon wanted HTPA to grow strong affiliations with other like minded organizations because she believed that through our relationships we could all be stronger and therefore serve the world faster, better and deeper. She walked the talk of our Code of Ethics and was always kind, respectful, honoring of boundaries, empowering of others, encouraging to all, passionate about life and her vocation, and acted to manifest Janet's mission of bringing Healing Touch to every home, health care facility and school.

Dear Sharon, I know your spirit in me will live on in both obvious and mystical ways. I vow to support and represent "The Voice" which you so dedicated yourself to manifesting through the Healing Touch Professional Association to be the best we can be. I love you forever and I know that one day YOU will jump up and down to greet me on the other side of the threshold."

"Sharon and I have been connected for years through the AHNA and Healing Touch.  I've considered her a Sister of Light and people have even commented that we look alike.  Sharon and I shared a strong vision and belief that healers, nurses, and women in service to others should be more financially prosperous.  We often conferred on ways to empower these women / our tribe, to make more money at healing work, so they can live with more abundance and independence -  and to even further their work in the world.

I've always felt like Sharon was a partner of mine on an important mission to advance the financial empowerment of women healers.  I will miss her and our talks so much.  But I do feel that she is still working from the other side to help make this happen.

She was just called to another post, at another place in space, time, and eternity, to continue to carry out her soul's purpose.  We will all miss her greatly and we will continue to witness the unfolding and growth of the fruits of her labor here. I feel that healers now have yet another reason to prosper in their healing practices, and that is to help carry out Sharon's legacy and have her star in heaven shine more proud and brighter than ever! Miss you Sweet Sister!"

"Sharon has done so much for all of us through her work as Ex Dir of HTPA...always a cheerleader and a positive role model. You might visit the HTPA website just for a sample of her contributions. She also served on the Healing Touch Worldwide Foundation Board for many years.

On a personal note, Sharon and I did instructor training together in 1999 and I always enjoyed receiving a warm and loving hug every year at conference. Just last August she and I comforted each other at the Denver conference about the recent deaths of her husband and my niece. She suggested to me then and I understand that she mentioned this to others as well....that the HT community should figure out a way to support those who are experiencing loss and grief... something for all of us to consider in the wake of her death.

Please hold Sharon's family and her HT family particularly the Healing Touch leadership in your prayers. Sharon was a very close and trusted friend to Lisa Mentgen Gordon and Cynthia Hutchison and so many others. I'm sure there will be more about Sharon's passing on the HTP website in the coming days."

-Mary Duennes

"I do remember our Level 6 class. Sharon was my roommate and the first person I met at the airport. At the time I was in a wheel chair from tearing my AC ligament that day on the plane coming to CO. I will never forget how she walked up to me as we both recognized one another because of the canvas bags we each carried with the HT logo on them. She was amazing -waking up intuitively at times in the middle of the night when I was in great pain and working on me without even thinking of herself or making sure she was getting enough sleep. That was the beginning of a bond between us that has continued through all these years. We have spent hours on the phone talking about her upcoming wedding, soaps that I made and sent to her, the children's program, mourning the death of both her brother and husband and so much more. Sunday morning was especially difficult because at the time her death was announced, I was out looking for her as we had planned to talk briefly about the children's breakfast meeting I hosted and how we could work together to give HT for Children a shot in the arm."

"What an incredible gift she gave and received! To pass on in the company of a loving community who respected and loved her, to be held and honored and blessed as she went on...and to give us all the opportunity to grieve and support each other...What a blessing!!"
-Lois Coldewey

"I am still so struck by her last words to us just after the skit...something like "I am so happy to have brought you laughter." As crazy as the logic of the Universe is in sudden and tragic deaths like so many of these close to us, have to wonder about the strange and beautiful ways things happen...like her quietly writing thank you notes. Inspires me! "

-Brian Shircliff

"Death and sorrow are close to all of us throughout our lives. There are no words to describe the loss and grief one feels when one who is loved so dearly and by so many passes away. Sharon's' death touched the deepest part of my heart and soul.
I treasure a beautiful gift Sharon gave me last year. It was a lovely silver dish in the shape of a "heart". She gave it to me out of the clear blue sky not because I did anything special, but because "she was special." She said to me, "I just wanted you to have this". It's easy to reflect on the "caring heart and joyful spirit of this beautiful soul".

As a friend and colleague, she is remembered as having encouraging kind words of support for everyone. Filled with integrity, she went that extra mile to make the world a better place. Her aura reflected her joyfulness of spirit as she went about doing her healing work.

Sharon's caring for others and the Healing Touch Program is reflected by her spirit of giving. She helped raise our awareness to new heights of professionalism as she utilized her wisdom and dedicated her skills, time and energy to serve humanity. She is truly one of the "World Servers" as described by Alice Bailey in Serving Humanity.

At the conference, Sharon held up a copy of the Healing Touch Professional Association's annual report booklet saying "Isn't this cover beautiful". Yes it is. The butterfly (symbolic of transformation) on the cover page was magnificently beautiful.
But Sharon, did you have to fly away so swiftly where we can't see you anymore? To touch you! Did you have to fly away during "A Garden of Possibilities" conference? Yes, we know butterflies aren't meant to stay put in someone's hand, in one garden. They alight on our fingertips for a fleeting moment and fly away to serve a higher purpose/calling . . . . spreading nectar.

I can feel hopeful as I am reminded of the continuation of life in another form. Perhaps you were responding to a Higher Calling. Why else would you tell us during your delightful skit at the Garden of Possibilities conference dressed in full Angel Wings: "This is your Fairy Guide Mother Take a deep breath and center. There is a better way to do things."

Throughout your garden of life, you earned those "Angel Wings". I feel that I must send you on your journey packed with love, blessings and good wishes as you answer your Higher Calling. Faith and hope touch my heart as I know your soul journey continues on in ways we might not understand at this moment.
I sense that you will continue to be the Angel Guide Mother (graduating from Fairy to Angel), spreading your beautiful nectar, sending that spark of light to all our hearts reminding all of us that there is a better way.

Collectively in your memory and honor, may we represent your spirit of professionalism, caring and giving? To carry out your legacy, may each of us do our part moving your vision forward for Healing Touch Practitioners and HTPA in the Garden of Possibilities. All this said, you know, we miss you deeply."

"Sharon and I wondered when we first became friends and remembered meeting at the Hawaii conference in 2000 to talk about forming a Business Council. Janet, later assured the newly formed Council would be guaranteed a breakout slot at subsequent conferences. Sharon coordinated workshops which I co-presented with Anne Day, Nancy Lester, and Margie Miller in 2002 in Denver and with Nancy Lester and Peg Olson in Colorado Springs in 2003. Sharon and I planned and presented a healing business workshop on prosperity consciousness at the famed Hilton Head conference in 2007. We have been in the planning stages for future self care and business workshops in retreat style settings.

We became closer after my visit to her home in 2009. We played on the beach, shopped, and attended the HT California conference in Santa Barbara. She and Arthur were gracious hosts. They loved dinner parties and entertaining in the old style with cocktails before dinner in the living room then moving to the dining table for delicious food, wine, and lively conversation. Sharon confided that Arthur liked me because I was intelligent, familiar with New York City, and could understand some Yiddish! I did healings on her beloved cat, Freddie, because for some reason he wasn't eating well.
We would talk on the phone for hours (or until she had a committee meeting) or well into the night when we shared a room at conferences. Our laughs were deep and our conversations about life and the affairs of the world were engaging and always mindful about ways to make the world a better place. Healing Touch Program professionals would lead the way, according to Sharon's and HTPA's plan.

I looked out my window of the hotel that Sunday morning in Chicago and the world looked different without Sharon in it. I can't quite describe it. I'm not sure what that is all about. Maybe the abrupt emptiness in my heart was reflected in my vision. In my communing with Sharon on the other side, she is smiling the biggest, brightest smile with the message that she feels so light. When I came home that Sunday night, I found a feather on my kitchen floor and believe it to be a message from our dear friend who is now among the angels and is now as light as a feather.
I am still shocked and sad. I will miss her terribly as will all who knew her. She considered everyone she knew a special friend. Her beautiful heart, soul, and smile touched so many people in so many ways."

Sharon embodied in my observations the very entrepreneurship that Janet so longed to demonstrate with her life. She elegantly carried a message of love, hope and goodness with her every act. She was compassionately honest and tried to clarify complex situations by making them simple and overt. She had a good business sense, great organizational skills, charisma and was fun-loving. I always enjoyed interacting with Sharon and was met with a lovely genuine warmth. She gave HTP so much, never complained when she was tired, and encouraged everyone to do their best. So dear Sharon, may you know that you gave us your best and you can be proud of those gifts which continue to bless us daily. May you be in peace, joy and love. Your presence is greatly missed here in this dimension. Thank you again for reminding us all to "let go".

- Sharon Scandrett

She was an empowering leader, a joy, an inspiration, a cheerleader, a dynamic loving support of Healing Touch, a depth of knowledge in healing and energy arts that spanned decades, a Divine Being of Love and Light and a most excellent human being who made you want to start an HTPA Chapter and to sit in on HTPA calls just to be there and give back some of the joy and wonder she resonated with and instilled in others."

"In the years that I have known and worked with Sharon I can't recall a single time she wasn't positive and upbeat. She was one of those people who just made you feel good to be around. I have truly enjoyed working with her over the last 8 years doing my little part to help HTPA. It was always a joy to talk with her and collaborate on projects. Moving to San Diego early this year meant I got to spend some special time with her. Sharon took time out of her always busy schedule and came to visit me at the hospital after my daughter, Amelia, was born this April. She sat for almost 3 hours and just held her - it is a precious memory for me. My four year old, Leela, had even taken to calling her "Auntie Sharon" and was looking forward to the special dates they had planned together after conference. It always amazes me how in-tune children are. When Leela heard about Sharon's passing, she quickly gave me a hug and told me "it's okay mommy, Sharon is good, she's happy." And I know she is.

Our family is blessed to be able to give her beloved cat, Fred, a new home with us. He is a sweet reminder of her gentle spirit."
