Airweld Installs New 14,000 Gallon Nitrogen Tank!
The latest addition to Airweld's LN2 Self-Sufficiency Initiative arrived Friday, August 23rd, when a 14,000 gallon tank was delivered to the Farmingdale, New York, facility. The 65,000 pound vessel was installed on a new concrete pad August 26th.

"This is the next phase of the program we launched several months ago," said Airweld President Eric Lundquist. "This tank, along with the two new liquid nitrogen trucks we inaugurated in July, will ensure our customers an uninterrupted supply of liquid nitrogen," he added.

Noting that severe weather has plagued deliveries from Airweld's major supplier in the past, Lundquist says the new tank will provide a sufficient buffer to service customer needs.
Airweld Service Tech Mike Yander attaches shackles and slings to the new 14,000 gallon liquid nitrogen receiver in preparation for hoisting the tank into place with a crane.
Airweld President Eric Lundquist works with the tank installation team to align and bolt the new tank onto the stands.
The Airweld team carefully swings the tank 360 degrees around as the crane swivels it into position for mounting on the new concrete pad.
The empty tank weighs 32.5 tons!
With the tank securely fastened to the stands, the shackles are unfastened and the slings released.

Meet Damian Martin
Damian Martin was working in the HVAC Industry and it wasn't "cool" enough for him. He heard about an opening at a company that distributes cryogenic liquid gases with temperatures 350 degrees below zero and thought to himself, "Now that's cool!" Twelve years later, this father of three is the Branch Manager of Airweld Farmingdale. "I enjoy the new challenges that every day brings and helping our customers with their needs," Damian explained. "The family-like environment adds to the pleasure of coming to work every day," he added. Damian devotes most of his leisure time supporting his twelve year old daughter in numerous sporting events.
Meet Mike Yander
Mike "Yambo" Yander hates heat. After years as an HVAC mechanic spending most of the time on the "hot" side, he was ready to cool down. An opening at Airweld afforded him the opportunity to work installing "the cold stuff" and five years and three months later, that's what he does. As a Service Tech, Mike installs micro-bulk and bulk tanks, cryogenic tanks as well as distribution piping for customers with lasers, cutting tables and more recently, cryogenic spas. "I enjoy the pace of the work, the freedom to get the job done right and the respect I've earned," smiled Mike.

"Yambo" spends much of his leisure time working on his home and raising his two daughters as a single dad.
