Mental Health Matters: Balancing Work and Well-Being

In today's fast-paced world, the intersection of work and mental health has become a crucial topic of discussion. The demands of professional life often lead to stress, anxiety, and burnout, highlighting the importance of prioritizing mental well-being alongside career goals.

Data from the Office on Women’s Health shows that over 20% of women in the United States have dealt with a mental health condition in the past year, including depression and anxiety. Data also shows that certain mental health conditions, such as depression and bipolar disorder, exhibit a higher prevalence among women or manifest differently in women compared to men.

DFSC Visits Hamilton County One-Stop Resource Center

Last month, we had the privilege to meet with women at the Hamilton County One-Stop Resource Center. During this visit, we were able to share more information on our services and how we can help those re-entering the workforce. In addition, we had a resume workshop where women were able to create, edit, and print their resumes. Women were also able to pick out a blazer and jewelry set for their upcoming interviews!

The Hamilton County One-Stop Resource Center is available every final Friday of the month in the lobby of the Justice Center to all Hamilton County residents, including returning citizens. The One-Stop pilot program was created to eliminate barriers to accessing supportive services.

Please Welcome Our New Thriving Services Manager, Tierra Adabla

We are excited to introduce our new Thriving Services Manager, Tierra Adabla. In this role, Tierra will help us with our new strategic plan of helping women thrive, personally and preofessionaly!

Tierra graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, along with a minor in Psychology. She has a diverse professional background focused on non-profits and local government.

For the past six years, she has worked for the local government managing federal funding for various programs. As a service coordinator at Hamilton County Developmental Disability Services, she developed care plans and advocated for supportive services with families and care teams. Later, as a program manager at Hamilton County Community Development, she oversaw federal funding for affordable housing and homeownership programs.

Currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration at Northern Kentucky University, specializing in Supply Chain Management and Organizational Leadership, Tierra is passionate about helping women and families thrive. In her free time, she loves hosting events and exploring different cultures through travel.

She is most excited about the opportunity to contribute to Dress for Success and make a meaningful impact in empowering women through this role. She firmly believes that our new programs will equip women with the tools needed to navigate life in all areas, allowing them to thrive.
