Dear GBC Family,

The Orlean Baptist Church will host an annual Celebration of Freedom Service on Sunday evening, July 9th at 6:30 PM. They are inviting all churches in the local community to join them as well as friends, neighbors, family members, and others who would like to attend.

The guest speaker this year is Former U.S. Air Force Chaplain, Col. Mike Husfelt. Mike has served in the Chaplain's Corp during both peace and war. He retired this past year and joined our Northstar Alliance as the Pastor of Upperville Baptist Church. He will have lots to share with us about the value of our freedom and the service the faith required to secure and maintain it. We will sing lots of patriotic hymns to include the Service Hymn and there will be an opportunity to pledge allegiance to our American and Christian flags and the Bible as part of the activities.

A love offering will be taken and passed along to Wounded Veterans. Following the service, there will be an Ice Cream and Apple Pie Social in our fellowship hall. Anyone wishing to bring a favorite dessert to share is welcome to do so, but it is not required.
