Future Pathways Awareness

It is never too early for students to start thinking about future pathways. Whether that means a 4-year college, 2-year college, trade school, military, gap year, or employment, I am here to help students begin to explore ideas for their post secondary future. SLPMS staff has been encouraged to wear college gear on Wednesdays to spark conversations and get names of schools out there. Also a conference room was just decorated as a place for students to meet with me to start the process of post secondary planning.

Seeking Youth Volunteers

The St. Louis Park Police Advisory Commission is currently seeking 1 or 2 youth advisory members.

What is the Police Advisory Commission?

The St. Louis Park Police Advisory Commission was formed to increase awareness of police department capabilities and services, provide an opportunity for citizen involvement and input in police services, and encourage positive interactions between the police department and the community. The work of the commission changes as the needs of the community change. Commissioners design and create their own initiatives each year.

What are the commitments?

Meetings are scheduled to take place at city hall on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Regular meetings are held a minimum of six times per year.

See them in Action...

Monthly meetings are open to the public. To see the Commission at a regular meeting, come to St. Louis Park City Hall (5005 Minnetonka Blvd) at 7pm on Wednesday 2-1-23 and check it out.

Boy's Basketball Spectator Information

Due to limited space/capacity we will need to limit the amount of spectators attending the middle school boys basketball games. Spectators will be limited to parents/guardians of players playing in the current game for both home and away teams. Teachers, friends and students will not be allowed to attend games. We apologize for this inconvenience but must be proactive in keeping our players, spectators, coaches and officials as safe as possible with limited space for seating in the field house and allow for parents/guardians to have space to attend the games.

Early Childhood Screening

The state of Minnesota requires all children to complete an Early Childhood Screening before entering kindergarten. The screening is most valuable at age 3.5 years old.

Early Childhood Screenings:

  • include a vision, hearing, and developmental assessment as well as an opportunity to discuss any circumstances that you feel may affect your child's learning readiness.
  • identify any areas in which your child may benefit from early childhood services before they enter kindergarten
  • can connect families with appropriate resources and programs to best support their child
  • take approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete

Screening results can be submitted to any public school in the state of Minnesota. Click here to register your child for a screening at the Central Early Learning Center (6300 Walker Street). Call 952-928-6774 or email Jenna Reynolds (reynolds.jenna@slpschools.org) with questions.
