Please come and support your Doctor's Dilemma Team, eat great food, and mix with faculty and residents from all Oregon programs!

Whether you are attending as a competitor on a team or planning to attend as an observer, you must register to attend. The space is capacity limited, so we must have an accurate head count and if you have not pre registered, you may be unable to attend.

Eligibility

Each Internal Medicine Residency Program in Oregon may enter one team for competition. The recognized Residency Programs are: 

• Legacy Health System 
• Legacy Health System Salmon Creek 
• Providence Portland Medical Center 
• Samaritan Health 
• Oregon Health & Science University 
• Providence St. Vincent Medical Center 
• Oregon Health & Science University Hillsboro 

It is up to each program to determine how it will identify the team from that program. The first place team from Oregon will advance to the Doctor’s Dilemma National Competition in Boston in April. Oregon ACP covers the costs for our national competitors.

Oregon ACP models after National ACP for our competition, and we follow the national ACP Rules. National ACP Rules can be found online.

ACP Internal Medicine Meeting 2024

Join Us in Boston April 18th - 20th, 2024!

Thanks to a grant from National ACP, Oregon ACP is offering Early Career Physicians the opportunity to apply for a $1,000 grant to offset the expenses of attending the Internal Medicine Meeting 2024 in Boston, Massachusetts. There are two grants available. 

ACP considers someone in their first 16 years of service to be an Early Career Physician. 

Note the early bird registration rates end January 31, 2024.

Scholarship Application

Submit an application by January 15, 2024. Your application will include the following: 

• Brief Biography - Please indicate if there is any aspect of your background or practice setting that you wish to have considered by the selection committee. (Suggested 250-word limit.) 
• Statement - How will attending the meeting benefit you and the patients you serve. (Suggested 500-word limit.) 
• Describe any direct patient care you provide to underserved communities. 
• Do you provide care in a rural setting (defined as a community with 2,500 or fewer people)? 
• Please indicate your primary specialty (the area in which you spend most of your time in medicine). 
• How do you define your professional focus? 

Oregon ACP will take all steps possible to award the scholarships prior to the early bird registration deadline for the Internal Medicine Meeting.

National ACP Leadership Day

ACP’s annual national advocacy event, Leadership Day, will take place in Washington, D.C. this year on May 14-15. Leadership Day enables the College to increase its presence on Capitol Hill and advocate directly with Congress in support of legislation directly impacting internal medicine physicians and their patients. 

Oregon ACP is currently finalizing the details of financial support for Oregon members – we will have opportunities to support those who are interested in attending.

Note: There is a $50 registration fee for Leadership Day. ACP Medical Student Members and ACP Resident/Fellows-in-Training Members are exempt from the fee.  This event is open to ACP Members only.
