We are excited to announce that the Washington chapter sponsored ACP board review preparation course is back by popular demand! Directed by Doug Paauw, MD, MACP and Joyce Wipf, MD, MACP, the course will be held live via zoom from Wednesday through Friday, July 17th - 19th, 2024. The three-day course is designed for new medicine resident graduates in preparation for the board-certification exam, as well as an update for physicians in practice.

Talks include numerous audience response questions so attendees can self-assess knowledge and reinforce patient care skills with clinical problem-solving and evidence-based practice. Sessions will be recorded so attendees can review again short-term after the course.

2024 Health Care Equality Fair

The HCEF is an exciting event organized by OHSU students from across the different schools, a recent partnership with COMP-NW, health care professionals, and community partners focused on raising awareness of disparities in health care and providing much-needed free health services to hundreds of uninsured and underserved Oregonians. The HCEF involves a lecture series aimed at educating the public about health care equity and culminates with the fair, held the first weekend of October in downtown Portland. Our capstone event, the health care equity fair, has had immense success in providing important health screenings to the local underserved, especially targeting housing-insecure populations. We have previously aided over 300 people annually, offering free services including first aid, on-site physician consults, blood pressure readings, eye exams, diabetic screenings, foot care, hearing tests, hair and lice care, veterinary services, social services, and mental and sexual health resources.
