Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation (A.R.T.) Program - Phase 2

Phase II of the A.R.T. program, is aimed at mitigating the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting the development and recovery of New Jersey’s commercial corridors and invigorating community focused arts and cultural organizations. The program will provide grants to projects located in thirty-one commercial corridor municipalities.

This program provides one-time grants of up to $3,000 to professional dancers in need, who are in dire financial emergency. You must demonstrate an urgent and critical need for emergency support in your application, and live in the U.S., the District of Columbia, a Tribal Nation, or a U.S. Territory.

This program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography. Only generative artists are eligible—artists creating their own, independent work, with recent and ongoing opportunities for the public to experience that work.

Selected titles will be published by CavanKerry Press and receive national distribution. Queer, trans, and BIPOC writers are encouraged to apply. CavanKerry is also especially engaged with work from people living with physical and/or mental illness and disability.

Call for proposals for breakout sessions focused on: well-being, organizational transformation, implementing equitable policies and practices, equitable artistic processes, interrupting microaggressions, disrupting oppressive systems, authentic community collaborations, and political/civic engagement in the arts. Creative Space Accelerator 2024

Call for Newark-based Organizations

Applicants may apply for technical assistance for a specific Creative Space Project that they plan to undertake. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in a six-month curriculum of group trainings and one-on-one consultation led by Artspace, a Minneapolis-based organization that provides guidance and support for creative space projects around the country.

In collaboration with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Newark Arts, the New Jersey Devils are having an open call for local artists to submit their portfolios to be considered for the opportunity to design game elements for one of the five Hockey Is For Everyone games for the 2024-25 season. These games include Latin & Hispanic Heritage, Pride, Black History Celebration, API Heritage, and Women's Empowerment.

This program supports dance and movement based artists from across the U.S. and its territories who work at the intersection of social and embodied practices. Now in its third iteration, the DFA program remains one of the few regranting programs available to independent U.S. dance artists with an unrestricted financial award. Fellowship awards of $31,000 will be given to at least 25 individual artists to be used at their own discretion.
