The 2025 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship rules and instructions and application are now available. State Fellowships are awarded to practicing New Jersey artists through an anonymous, competitive application process to help them pursue their artistic goals. Dance New Jersey Community Impact Awards

Nominations are now open for Dance New Jersey's inaugural Community Impact Awards! Nominees should be Dance New Jersey members who have used dance as a way to affect positive change in their community and/or the New Jersey dance community at large. Nominees may demonstrate community impact through social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, climate action, or other areas that have a meaningful role in bettering the lives of others through their work in the field of dance. Self-nominations are welcome.

Folk and Traditional Arts Community Projects Grants

Folk and Traditional Arts Community Projects grants fund projects that support the vitality of traditional arts and cultures in the mid-Atlantic region. Non-profit organizations in DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, USVI, PR, or WV may apply for $1,000 to $7,000 grants. A 1:1 match is required.

These virtual sessions will be provided as a platform for teaching artists to share their experiences, discuss new opportunities, and connect with each other and the State Arts Council. Through loosely moderated discussions, the sessions will provide an opportunity to network with other New Jersey teaching artists, share challenges and successes of working in the state, and discuss what teaching artistry could look like as we move into the future.

Our Town is the NEA’s creative placemaking grants program. Through project-based funding, the program supports activities that integrate arts, culture, and design into local efforts that strengthen communities over the long term.

Dance/USA Fellowships to Artists

This program supports dance and movement based artists from across the U.S. and its territories who work at the intersection of social and embodied practices. Now in its third iteration, the DFA program remains one of the few regranting programs available to independent U.S. dance artists with an unrestricted financial award. Fellowship awards of $31,000 will be given to at least 25 individual artists to be used at their own discretion.

Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation (A.R.T.) Program - Phase 2

Phase II of the A.R.T. program, is aimed at mitigating the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting the development and recovery of New Jersey’s commercial corridors and invigorating community focused arts and cultural organizations. The program will provide grants to projects located in thirty-one commercial corridor municipalities.
