Our brothers and sisters in Christ do not have great expectations for a happy new year in Haiti. ORH shares their words with you. Please, take these following words to God's throne through prayer.
Hosanna Baptist Church, Jacmel, Haiti; Pastor Cherubin.
"Haiti is in need. No fuel, no food, no electricity, school are partially open, public hospitals and companies are closed.
It is a chaotic panoramic picture.... Darkness is all over because of no electricity...massive and non-stop demonstrations asking the resignation of the government...the fuel shortage...has deepened the situation. Hotels, restaurants, other companies, and even hospitals were forced to close their doors.
Massive firing of employees is recorded because of fuel shortage... inflation reaches 47% with a 53% on food products.... Gangs are forcing buyers to pay huge amount not to hijack goods trucks.... Josue Laguerre Financial and Administrative Director Hosanna Ministries"
Shalom Fundamental Baptist Church, Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Pastor Maxime Pierre-Pierre
"Since the July 2021 assassination of then-reigning President Jovenel Morse, the already worrisome situation of Haiti has taken an alarming turn. Armed gangs control 60% of the capital and several cities. The inflation level is around 50% for the past 12 months. The cost of food has increased at least twofold and possibly threefold. Kidnappings occur daily."
"Thankfully, that's not all the news about Haiti. The people of God standing in the gap, praying, and living worthy of the Lord Jesus are making a big difference. Many have chosen to stay in the country because they believe this is where God wants them to be. They try in their own small way to bring a response to the crisis by evangelizing children, helping the poor, visiting the sick, discipling believers, and being a light in their workplace for the Lord Jesus. That's what we try to do at Shalom Fundamental Baptist Church."
To help the churches maintain a food and medicine ministry, ORH has sent $11,000.00.
Pray diligently for these churches ministering in war-like conditions. Pray for their families and continued ministry. Pray that banks will remain open and able to handle financial donations which ORH sends in the coming months.
