The Batavia Chamber of Commerce will need volunteers on Friday, July 12 at the Beer Tent during Windmill City Fest. We will be responsible for ticket sales, ID checks and beer service. We have divided the volunteer times into three time slots 5-7 p.m., 7-9 p.m., and 9-11 p.m. and we need at least 10 volunteers for each shift, including two B.A.S.S.E.T certified Team Captains to be present at each shift. Please let us know if you are B.A.S.S.E.T certified.

Congratulations to Zen Loft Collective! | |

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of Chamber member Zen Loft Collective, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 16. This new wellness center is in downtown Batavia at 103 E. Wilson St., 2nd Floor. Batavia Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration with Zen Loft Collective co-owners Emily Beaupre and Kelly Vida, who also serves as the collective’s manager.
Zen Loft Collective is a wellness center located in downtown Batavia. It currently offers yoga and other fitness classes, massage and hourly space rental for artists and practitioners. Owners Emily Beaupre and Kelly Vida bring their expertise from successful individual practices to Zen Loft Collective. Emily is the owner of Zen Loft Wellness Center in downtown Aurora. She is a licensed massage therapist with more than 20 years of wellness industry experience and owns her own practice Sunshine Wellness Services. Kelly is the founder and owner of Empowered Mama Fitness. Its mission is to provide fitness options, special events, and educational resources designed to empower women through all stages of their lives, with a special focus on motherhood.

Life is better at the beach. Hall Quarry Beach, Batavia’s favorite summer destination, reopens on Saturday, May 25, to kick off Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial beginning of summer. The Quarry will host special summer events, swim lessons and will also be available for private rentals. Season passes remain on sale at discounted, preseason rates through Friday, May 24. Applications Opened May 18
Winterfest Art Market is a holiday market in collaboration with non-profit organizations Water Street Studios and Batavia MainStreet. Artists, artisans and makers will be selling fine art and handmade items featured throughout Water Street Studios and The Dock (150 First St.) Event Hours are Friday, November 8 from 6-9pm, Saturday, November 9 from 10am- 5pm, and Sunday, November 10 from 10am- 2pm. During the weekend of June 14 - 16, everyone is encouraged to celebrate Flag Day and the special connection that Batavia has to this day. On Friday, June 14, a celebration takes place at the Peg Bond Center and Batavia Riverwalk, 151 N. Island Ave., beginning at 7 p.m.
The Flag Day Committee also urges local businesses to offer patriotic items for sale and to decorate in red, white, and blue that week. Some downtown Batavia businesses are donating a portion of their sales during the Flag Day weekend to support the Flag Day Monument.
