Congratulations to Our 2023 Ole Award Winners !

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce has named eight Batavia businesses as recipients of the 2023 Ole Award. Businesses who had final city occupancy permits by December 31, 2023, were eligible.

All recipients will be honored at Inspire 2024: A Celebration of Those Who Inspire Us! event, scheduled for Thursday, April 25. The Ole honorees for 2023 and the appropriate category for their award are:

7th Annual Soup Sampler Event Takes Place on March 14

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Batavia United Way will be hosting our 7th Annual Soup’s On – Soup Tasting Fundraiser at Bar Evolution & The Tea Tree, 27-29 N. River St., Batavia. We are stewing up a great event! Tickets are now on sale; only 120 tickets will be available for the event. Ticketed guests will receive a 3 oz sample of soups from 12 different local restaurants as well as Texas toast and crackers to accompany the soup. Read the entire press release.

The City of Batavia will be holding a final public open house on Wednesday, February 21^st, 2024 at 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the City Council Chambers. Members of the public are invited to attend to view the draft document and provide feedback to the City’s consultant Houseal Lavigne. Batavia Launches Emergency Notification System: Alert Batavia

The City of Batavia has launched an emergency notification system, Alert Batavia, that enables public safety officers to notify the community about emergencies by telephone, mobile, SMS, email, and more. The notification system is powered by CodeRED.

Batavia residents and businesses are encouraged to subscribe to Alert Batavia by providing contact information to receive targeted alerts about emergencies that could directly impact individuals, homes, businesses, or property. City personnel will use Alert Batavia to send time-sensitive emergency alerts such as: criminal activity; shelter-in-place/lockdowns; extended power outages; hazardous material threat; public health crisis; active shooter incident; missing or endangered person; road closures/traffic alerts; and others.
