Greetings MPI CRV Members!
What a year the MPI CRV chapter has had so far. Our chapter has continued to grow and evolve and we owe all of our success to our amazing chapter members. As my tenure as your president starts to wind down I have been reflecting on what we have accomplished this year. Our members have seen some great personal and professional changes and it is always exciting to hear your stories. Some of our members have had babies, changed jobs, studied for their CMP exam, gotten a promotion, won awards, and so much more. Our chapter has experienced some great highs this year as well. Our education programs this year have been top notch and we have brought you some fun new networking opportunities. I mean, who can forget how amazing our Ugly Sweater Runway Show was this year!
The board had a big initiative this year. We really wanted to elevate the education we have been providing to you, our members, this year. We wanted to bring you fresh and new topics and provide some more "senior level" education for our more seasoned members. I think the best example of this was through our education program with David Schultz who spoke about "Travel Risk Polices and Compliance...Is This the New Normal?" What an amazing topic that relates directly to one of the major concerns in our industry. In our global economy, we still need to conduct business throughout the country and world but it is imperative as meeting professionals that we reduce our risk. David's topic touched on this aspect of our industry and his insight into it provided our attendees some great best practices that they can take back to their office.
We loved seeing all of you at our 3rd Annual New England Business Forum Powered by Xsite. What an amazing day of networking and education at the UMass Hotel & Conference Center. We cannot thank all of our sponsors enough for all that they did to help us make this event the best yet. If you did not get to attend this year please make sure mark your calendars for April 9, 2018 when we will be at the Marriott Hartford/Windsor for another day full of education and networking.
To wrap up the year we will be hosting our annual June Gala and Silent Auction on June 7th. The Riverview is our host again this year and they have worked with our Gala committee to create an amazing Havana Nights themed evening. This is a great night where we celebrate our award winners, thank the outgoing 2016-2107 board and welcome the new incoming 2017-2018 board. Plus, you will not believe the Silent Auction items we have been able to secure for you this year! Anyone feel like going to Las Vegas for a few nights and perhaps catch a show and eat in some of the celebrity restaurants? Or perhaps you would rather go to Chicago and stay at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Magnificent Mile? The Silent Auction choices are outstanding.
Lastly, I want to just thank all of our members for making my presidency such an amazing highlight in my career. A special thank you goes to all of our volunteers and our extremely hard-working board members for your dedication. I have learned so much from all of you and I am impressed daily by your passion for our industry. Your commitment humbles me and I am privileged to have worked with all of you.
Warmest Regards,
Lacee Colwell
MPI CRV President 2016-2017
