Welcome Message from President Luis G. Pedraja

Welcome to the fall semester! Whether you are new to our college or returning after a break, I am glad you chose to join us at QCC. The beginning of a term is always an exciting time for everyone, but this fall is even more so after being remote for the past academic year. I am thrilled to see students back on campus and seeing the campus halls fill with many new faces. Although we are not completely out of the shadow of the pandemic, we can see the light of new dawn on the horizon. We’ve made it through the worst days of the pandemic and we will persevere, so stay strong, QCC strong!

Welcome Message from Ashlee Givins, Director of Student Life

Welcome Back to Campus QCC!

My name is Ashlee Givins, the new Director of Student Life and Leadership, and I am so excited to be a part of the QCC Family.

Although we may not know what is to come as we continue to deal with COVID-19, I want to assure you all that Student Life is here to support you in any way you may need. We will be offering various ways to get involved and hosting events throughout the fall semester, both in-person and virtually. We will be hosting leadership workshops and a formal, application based, Leadership Academy. We will be collaborating with other offices on campus, to provide a wide range of trainings to enhance your skills. These are just a few ways you can be involved during your time at Quinsigamond.

The Fuller Center, located in between Surprenant and Administration building, is a space for the entire student body. We are currently working on updating the space, and will have an unveiling of the new and improved Fuller Center! Come say hi to the Student Life staff, grab a snack and drink between classes, play a video game or a round of pool, enjoy a board game, watch your favorite TV show, or simply come and hang out with friends! This is your space; therefore, if there is something you’d like to see in the Fuller Center do not hesitate to reach out.

Again, I am so excited to be a part of the amazing community and look forward to getting to know you all!

Being friends with benefits means connecting with someone emotionally and sexually without being in a committed relationship.

To be friends with benefits, everyone involved has to be on the same page about what’s happening. That means both people should feel good about the arrangement. This kind of relationship can take work, so checking in with yourself and your friend from time to time to see how you’re feeling about things can help you maintain healthy friendships and boundaries.

Student Peer Advocate Application Form Fall 2021

The Student Peer Advocates are trained by the YWCA of Central MA Domestic Violence Educators. Each student will become certified after completing the training and expected to serve as resources for domestic violence on our campus and in the community. Students are expected to complete all eight workshops that will address prevention and intervention. There will be eight workshops held once a week on Thursdays from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. Training will start beginning on September 30, 2021 and end on December 2, 2021.
