until the year comes to a close...
...and we turn out the lights to go home, we thank you, and everyone like you, who cares about preservation.

Saving our irreplaceable natural and historically significant resources cannot be done alone.  Your support this year, and since 1995, has made our work possibl e.

Thank you.

Your tax-deductible donation to the Conservancy ensures that our work will continue, and together we will protect more  land, save more historic buildings and structures and conserve our watershed .

See what we've been up to in 2015...
Monitored local waterways with help from citizen scientists...

14 new citizen scientists, trained by the Conservancy, became part of the StreamWatch Program. The data collected from Mill Creek and the East Branch of Indian Creek has been used to inform Lower Merion Township, Narberth Borough and regional partners about water quality and create baseline data to compare after restoration or storm events.
 Saved historic treasures...

We had a number of historic preservation      successes during the past year. The William Penn  Inn was saved from demolition as a result of its  placement on our Watchlist, which helped secure  a rescue buyer.

Partnering with the Ardwood Civic Association,  the Conservancy made significant progress  towards the creation of a residential  historic district in Ardmore.
Advocated for strong preservation practices...

The Conservancy took a hard look at the Township's Comprehensive Plan and advocated for recommendations that would improve quality of life and ensure strong preservation practices. We congratulated the Township on the Plan's emphasis on neighborhood and open space preservation and its commitment to solving the number one environmental and public health problem in the Township: stormwater runoff.

Connected children with their watersheds...

We continued our collaboration with local school partners to expand our children's environmental education programs into year-long, multiple visits to Rolling Hill Park. Each program was designed to build upon the last, while immersing children in nature and using our local watershed as a focused study site to connect students to larger science concepts.

The Lower Merion Conservancy thanks our many members and volunteers for their invaluable contributions to our work. The work of the Conservancy, and that of our many partners and friends, helps keep Lower Merion and Narberth the treasures they are today, better places to live, healthier places to raise families, and places where we enjoy more open space and protected historic resources.
