To the Sawyer Business School Community,

The fall semester ended with two pieces of exciting news: In its 2022 rankings, The Princeton Review once again rated the Sawyer Business School as one of the Best Business Schools in the country.
 
Not only that, for the first time our online MBA program was ranked in the Top 50 in the nation.
 
As you’ll see in the story below, this important recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty. Their focus, determination, and enthusiasm for our students — especially during the pandemic — have been phenomenal.
 
Support for the Business School also comes from alumni like Ed McDonnell (pictured above), whose travel scholarship fund has enabled students to see how business works around the world and whose new book we celebrated last fall. And there's the continued support we get from the greater SBS community, members of whom served as judges for presentations from our first-year students at the end of the fall and who have donated to our Career Closet.

Cover of Melconian's book
Linda Melconian, Public Administration, recently published her new book, Lay It on the Table, which chronicles an important part of our national history: the time when Speaker Tip O'Neill led the U.S. House of Representatives to end the Vietnam War.

According to former Massachusetts Senate President Tom Birmingham, "Melconian's book demonstrates a keen understanding of politics in general and Tip O'Neill in particular."
Andrew Wilson, Marketing, published a blog post with the London School of Economics about deceptive advertising.
Sokol Celo and Mark Lehrer, Strategy and International Business, published a paper in Journal of World Business, "How much lateral collaboration is optimal? Insights from computer simulations of MNEs as complex adaptive systems."
Greg Beaver, Management & Entrepreneurship, has been appointed as the second Provost's Faculty Fellow for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He will continue to develop a number of workshops focused on diversity in the curriculum and inclusive teaching practices as well as expanded resources for teaching.
Nataliya Zaiats, Finance, had her co-authored article, "Short seller attention," accepted for publication in Journal of Corporate Finance, a premier journal in the field of finance.
Brenda Bond-Fortier, Public Administration, was quoted in the Boston Globe about Boston Mayor Michelle Wu's plans to reform the Police Department: "Wu's handling of policing will be a 'critical' aspect of her mayoralty, Bond-Fortier said. 'It's one of the most important policy arenas of any local government.'"
