for kindness, mercy and justice”

MISSION STATEMENT

Through donations received from members and the public, Animal Care and Welfare Inc.

offers assistance for low cost spays and neuters. We also operate our pet placement program by collaborating with shelters, carefully selecting homeless pets and placing them in loving homes.

BIANNUAL NEWSLETTER

It has been a very busy year for AC&W so far.

We have been on the move and saving lives. By working closely with our partnering shelters, we have given

a new lease on life to so many homeless dogs and cats. We all share a common mission to find forever homes for all of these adoptable pets.

By working together, we are doing great things!

“Kitten season” is here and shelters around the country, including our local shelters, are facing their most challenging time of the year. Unlike other animals,

cats can continue to reproduce starting in the spring and have litter after litter until the weather becomes

cold again. This leaves many shelters overrun with kittens

in need of homes.

Did you know that a kitten can start reproducing

at 4 months of age? In just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens!

We have been collaborating with Hancock County Animal Shelter to rescue

hundreds of these unwanted kittens in high kill shelters. Therefore, we continually

have large numbers of kittens who are looking for their forever homes.

If you are looking for a new addition to your family, we may just have the

furry friend you have been looking for. Check out our Petfinder page and consider inviting one of our kittens into your home.

We would like to send out a big thank you to Alleycat Spay & Neuter Clinic in East Liverpool who has been a great asset to AC&W during this kitten season. They make sure our kittens spayed and neutered in a timely manner so they can quickly find their new homes and families. We know how challenging this time of the year can be for them as well. We are forever grateful for all their help and support in our mission to save all of these little lives in need. We couldn’t do it without them!

As always, all of our kittens are temperament tested to ensure a great adoption. Our kitties are friendly, personable and enjoy the company of people and other pets. We want your new pet to be an integral member of the family. Our temperament testing is the best way to assess pets’ personalities and enables us to find you the “purr-fect” fit for your lifestyle.

We were thrilled to participate in the 17th annual Hearts and Paws Adoption & Care Fair

this year. It was a very successful event for us, because we placed 19 kittens into their forever homes! Many of you may have seen us there in the past and it was exciting to reconnect with all of our friends there. You can stay in touch with our future whereabouts by visiting our Facebook and Twitter pages. Please stop by and visit us next time we are in your area!

HAPPY TAILS FOR RALPHIE

“I just wanted to give you an update on Ralphie. He's gotten used to car rides, walking on

a leash, and taking cues from his new big brother, Artie. He's doing great! We absolutely

love him and are so thankful for what you do.”
