2020 Officers Announced
Dedicated Directors remain in office to maintain momentum
Club Officer elections were held at the winter Board meeting in December. The Directors in attendance voted unanimously to approve a motion that the current Officers extend their term for an additional year based on the overall success of the Club in 2019.
The full Board's Annual Strategic Planning Meeting is scheduled for this month. Officers and Directors assemble to review the Club's Charitable Programs, its Committees and more.
We are grateful for the leadership and dedication of the entire Board and their continued commitment to the Club's mission.

Captain's Corner
Written by Captain Kevin Deerman
The Club's Annual Awards Program for 2019 has come to an end, and the competition was steady all year long with lead changes right up until the finish.
There were a few teams that even battled it out all the way through the holidays to put some last minute points on the leaderboards. The Awards Program has been constantly growing the past few years, and we are now working on a feature that will hopefully increase participation even more by making it easier for our members to verify their catches in the near future. Stay tuned for all the details!
Good luck to everyone in 2020 and Happy New Year!

The Learning Curve
Written by Captain Troy Day
Conservation & Education Committee
January 2020
Over the years having watched social media, it seems that Club Members see or catch tiny billfish every once in a while, especially at night in our underwater lights.
The Billfish Foundation has launched a research program on them in order to learn more about billfish spawning locations, movements, and habits. All TBF is asking is to take a picture and send it to tag@billfish.org with approximate position, date, time of day, weather, size of fish, etc. Th
e next time you're out and see what appears to be a small billfish, take a pic and send it in.....while you're at it, send it to us too at
info@hbgfc.com
