Greetings!
“After the uproar ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging them, he said farewell and departed for Macedonia…Sopater the Berean, son of Pyrrhus, accompanied him; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus. These went on ahead and were waiting for us at Troas, but we sailed away from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days we came to them at Troas, where we stayed for seven days” (Acts 20:1, 4-6).
This occurred at the end of Paul’s third missionary journey. Paul and his team were on the way to Jerusalem to deliver the offering from the Gentile churches to the Judean believers in distress due to the famine (Acts 11:27-30; 2 Cor. 8-9). Integral to Paul’s strategy was the development of godly men to lead the newly formed churches (2 Tim. 2:1-2). This is also a key part of our strategy.
In line with this, this fall Keith Arnold, myself, and eight national directors from Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India will tour the Northeast USA (upstate NY, eastern PA, MD, Washington, DC, and VA) from September 1 – October 25.
Khup, Kittikun, Somsay, Sitha, Y Hanh, Frids, Henry, and Vijay will join me and Keith Arnold (CCI northern Mexico area coordinator) as we visit churches and ministry champions. A champion invests in the work of CCI by praying, giving, and telling others about the work of God through CCI. We are scheduled to visit at least 21 churches and attend a missions banquet, dinners, luncheons, dessert socials, and office visits.
