Bill Rossiter performs at Old West Days
Singer, Songwriter and Storyteller
Jackson, WY- May 16, 2014 Singer, songwriter, storyteller, and historian Bill Rossiter will perform on the stage during Old West Days, Saturday, May 23, 2014.  He will be on stage on Center and Deloney St. following the Old West Days Parade.

Bill has been a farm laborer, brakeman, Capuchin friar, factory worker, newspaper columnist, carpenter, public relations flack, disk jockey, ghost writer and bartender. He chaired the Humanities Division and taught literature and illiterature (folklore) for twenty-five years at Flathead Valley Community College and at the University of Montana, retiring in 1999. He currently rambles around Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado singing songs of the railroad, heroes and outlaws, the Irish immigration, the frontier, the Civil War, cowboys and sodbusters, mines and miners, the Great Depression, and other eras of American history. With his wife, Sharon, he sings songs of courtship, love, wedlock-and deadlock-from the past four centuries. He says he learned most of his songs at his mother's knee and other low joints.

Recently he's given concerts at the Billings Western Heritage Center, the Big Mountain Ski and Summer Resort, many town festivals and heritage celebrations, the Miles City week-long "Hometown Humanities" project, Cut Bank Storytellers Roundup (he's been invited back five times), Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility, exactly two zillion elementary and high schools, and various other clubs and organizations, reputable and otherwise.
