Construction Updates

Ridge Road Sponsors

We are happy to announce that our build at 16 Ridge Road is complete. The Home Dedication was held on June 20th and the Creeden family moved into their new home. We are so grateful for all of the support we received in building the Creeden's forever home. Such an honor for Old Colony Habitat for Humanity to support our community in this concrete and meaningful way!

Gail Olyha: A Dedicated Volunteer

at Old Colony Habitat for Humanity

Gail Olyha has been a dedicated volunteer with Old Colony Habitat for Humanity since the spring of 2016, coinciding with the opening of our ReStore in Attleboro. Initially volunteering as a cashier at our ReStore, she quickly expanded her role, managing the donor database with precision and care.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Gail adapted to the challenges, stepping away from the ReStore, but continuing with

"I volunteer because OCHFH volunteers are passionate about helping others. From cashiering at the ReStore, to data entry, to orienting new volunteers, to finishing a house for a new family - all these experiences have led to new friendships and a fulfilling post-retirement!" ~ Gail Olyha

volunteer tracking remotely. Her dedication never waivered, ensuring that the volunteer network remained robust.

In addition to her database management, Gail plays a pivotal role in volunteer coordination. She plans and directs orientations, welcomes new volunteers and helps them integrate into the Habitat family. Her efforts create a smooth onboarding process and foster a supportive and effective volunteer community.

Gail is also an active member of our Event Committee; planning, attending, and actively assisting at multiple events, including our Wine Tasting, Home Dedication, Groundbreaking and Celebration of Philanthropy. Our supporters and volunteers will recognize Gail welcoming them at our registration area.

Gail's unwavering commitment and organizational prowess have been invaluable to Old Colony Habitat. She is a true asset to our Habitat family.

About Our ReStore & How You Can Help!

Our ReStore, located on Rt. 1A, Attleboro is a retail store that accepts donations of new and gently-used building materials, appliances and furniture and resells them at a significant reduction. All proceeds fund the building of affordable homes in our local communities. Here are some of our needs:

  • Seeking "volunteens" wanting community service hours.
  • Seeking volunteers who are interested in organizing, decorating, cleaning, and setting displays.
  • Seeking donations of building materials, furniture, and household goods.
