Norton Construction Update

We are so grateful to our numerous sponsors, community volunteers, and all who have contributed their support to getting us to this point in the build. We are in the home stretch! April progressed through painting, floor installation and completing the interior trim work. To date in May we have completed the cabinet installation, yard grading, and driveway paving. We are on schedule for the Creeden Family to receive the keys to their new home in June and are looking forward to the Home Dedication on June 20! Check out all of our sponsors here!

Rich Farmer: A Dedicated Lead at

Old Colony Habitat for Humanity

In the realm of community service, there are those whose dedication transcends professions and mark the lives they touch. We were so fortunate to be introduced to Rich Farmer when he volunteered for a Build Day through the Attleboro Elks. Rich continues to be a member of the Attleboro Elks, a group of dedicated volunteers who foster philanthropy, support our efforts to build affordable housing, and foster community caring and sharing. With Rich’s extensive background in both banking and construction, it was a perfect match to establish an amazing building and committed volunteer partnership.

Retirement hasn't slowed down Rich’s spirit of giving back. His continued involvement in community projects like the home builds with Old Colony Habitat for Humanity underscores his

“I volunteer with Old Colony Habitat because it gives me the ability to utilize my construction skills to provide affordable housing to those in need. It's as simple as that!" ~ Rich Farmer

commitment to creating meaningful change and fostering a sense of belonging for all. As a retired professional from Bristol County Savings Bank, Rich brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and knowledge to each project and channels these assets into meaningful contributions for the community. His involvement in both the Attleboro Build and currently on the Norton Build exemplifies his enduring dedication to making a positive impact for individuals and in the community.

Rich’s journey with Habitat for Humanity is a testament to the power of passion and purpose. His calm and patient demeanor are an asset to sharing his knowledge with the many volunteers at Pike Ave and Ridge Road. His strategic insights, coupled with a genuine heart for service, have been instrumental in his endeavors. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for his enduring dedication to Old Colony Habitat for Humanity and the communities it serves. His impact goes far beyond bricks and mortar, touching the lives of countless individuals and exemplifying his compassion, generosity, and community spirit. We are so grateful that he has chosen Old Colony Habitat to share his talents and expertise to build homes, futures, and a better world for everyone.

About Our ReStore & How You Can Help!

Our ReStore, located on Rt. 1A, Attleboro is a retail store that accepts donations of new and gently-used building materials, appliances and furniture and resells them at a significant reduction. All proceeds fund the building of affordable homes in our local communities. Here are some of our needs for the store:

  • Seeking 14+ year olds wanting community service hours on Saturdays.
  • Seeking volunteers who are interested in organizing, decorating, cleaning, and setting displays.
  • Seeking donations of building materials, furniture, and household goods.
