HOUSE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE FAVORABLY PASSES SENATE BILL 33
On Wednesday, Senate Bill 33, the Ohio Critical Protection Act was passed out of the House Public Utilities Committee by a vote of 14-9. This bill prohibits damaging or tampering with critical infrastructure projects.

OHIO CHAMBER PUSHES BACK AGAINST LEGISLATION THAT IGNORES FOUNDATION OF OHIO'S WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAW
In front of the Ohio House Insurance Committee, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce provided opponent testimony on House Bill 308. The legislation would upend over one hundred years of workers’ compensation law by providing time off payments and medical benefits for a purely mental injury.

BWC PROPOSES PRIVATE EMPLOYER RATE CUT FOR THIRD YEAR IN A ROW
At the BWC Board of Directors committee meeting on January 30, staff recommended a 13% private employer premium rate reduction. This rate reduction will save employers across the state over $131 million next fiscal year, and is the third largest decrease since 1960.
