Heads Up Boca!
Learn About Bike Box Safety
Have you seen the new bike box downtown on NW 2nd Street? The box is designed to help bike riders stay safe. It serves as a designated space on the street at the traffic light where bicyclists can wait in front of motorists at a red signal, making them more visible, and allows them to get ahead of traffic when the red light turns green. How to use it?
On a RED Light: Bicyclists stop and wait in the box; cars should stop at the line before the bike box.
When Light Turns GREEN: Bicyclists go first; right turning cars should check for bicyclists before turning.
For more bike safety tips, and to the view the City's NEW bike map, visit the City's website.
