I'd like to plant a tree in my swale...can I?
Yes! Planting trees - especially native ones - is a great way to improve our City's tree canopy and provide additional shade. Before making plans to plant trees in the swale (the area between your property line and the street) of your home on non-private streets, MAKE SURE to complete an Engineering Right-of-Way permit application and sign a Swale Area Affidavit. This will help ensure no sewer, water lines, electrical lines or other underground utilities are moved or damaged and protects against other possible hazards.
Questions on permits? Call 561-393-7930 or email: buildingpermits@myboca.us.
