Centennial Logo Reveal
The City is excited to unveil a special logo for Boca Raton’s upcoming Centennial Celebration in 2025. The logo represents 100 years of rich history, vibrant culture, and a strong community spirit with each color representing different elements of our City. Residents and visitors can look forward to seeing the logo incorporated into all centennial-related events and materials as the City celebrates the past, present, and future of Boca Raton starting in January 2025.

Heads Up Boca! How to Deal with Extreme Temperatures
With more frequent days of unusually high temperatures, make sure to prevent any heat-related illnesses, that can happen quickly. Key precautions to take include:

Drink Cool Water: At least 1 cup every 20 minutes.

Take Rest Breaks: Rest in shaded or air-conditioned areas often so your body can cool.

Avoid Strenuous Activities Outdoors: Limit physical exertion during peak heat hours, usually between 10am and 4pm

Check on Vulnerable Individuals: Ensure the safety of the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing health conditions, who are more susceptible to heat-related issues.

Dress for the Heat: Wear a hat and light-colored and loose-fitting clothing.

Fireworks Safety
While fireworks are a traditional part of the July 4th celebration, every year people take potentially dangerous risks when they celebrate. Did you know... of the 9,700 fireworks injuries treated in hospital emergency departments, about 66% occurred in the month surrounding the July 4th holiday.
As the holiday weekend approaches, Boca Raton Fire and Police Departments reminds everyone to enjoy Independence Day in a safe and responsible way! Be on the lookout for an important safety message from our public safety officials this week on social media.

Flooding During Hurricanes, or Anytime
Now is the time to know your flood zone and insure your property. The City’s ongoing floodplain management efforts may qualify residents in high hazard flood zones for a discount of up to 15% on their flood insurance rates. Plus, take a moment to review some important flood terms:

Amazing View from the Top
Jacob’s Outlook, the new observation tower at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is now OPEN! Climb the stairs or take a leisurely stroll up the ADA compliant ramp to reach the top of the 40-foot tower and enjoy vistas from the intracoastal to the ocean. The new tower is named in remembrance of Jacob Kosowsky, a local young man who loved the outdoors, but passed away in 2018.
Jacob’s Outlook and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center boardwalk are open 7AM - Sunset.

For City sanitation customers, please note the holiday sanitation schedule for the Independence Day holiday (observed on Thursday, July 4) as your collection days may change:
- City offices closed on Thursday, July 4.
