Where is ... ? Office Moves on Campus

A number of College offices and services have been relocated to be more accessible to campus. 

 

Student Affairs has relocated several of its services to Moon Library:

 

  • Student Success and Engagement | 15 Moon
  • MOSAIC Lounge and Brave Space | 14 Moon
  • Beth’s Bounty | 18 Moon

 

Alumni Relations is now housed in the west end of Centennial Hall with the Division of Advancement. The new phone number is 315-470-6683.



Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access moved to 219 Bray Hall. You’ll find Chief Diversity Officer Danushi Fernando and Administrative Assistant Lela Randall there!

Dr. Rundell Gives Keynote on Snail Diversity

Dr. Rebecca Rundell was the keynote speaker for the Annual Biology Symposium at SUNY Binghamton Jan. 13. The symposium was organized by Binghamton University's Department of Biological Sciences and the Biology Graduate Student Organization. Her presentation was titled “Tropical land snail diversity in Belau (Republic of Palau, Oceania): Window on evolution and conservation."

Students: Introduce New Mighty Oaks to Life at ESF

Be an Orientation Leader (OL) and help welcome the next class of Mighty Oaks to ESF!


Applications are being accepted for 2024 Orientation Leaders. Every year, approximately 50 OLs welcome first-year students into college life. Be a friendly face in a crowd, answer questions, and provide guidance as our newest students navigate the college experience. Don't worry you'll receive training!

Syracuse Police Department Safety Workshop

Do you know what a call to 911 entails? What’s the difference between a call-taker and a dispatcher? How can you keep yourself safe from crime? 


Learn about all these topics and more with Lt. Matthew Malinowski of the Syracuse Police Department. 


Tuesday, Jan. 30 I 11 a.m. I 24 Marshall Hall

 

Lt. Malinowski will share information and tips about:

  •  Syracuse Police Department: Explanation of patrol and investigative divisions
  •  911 process from start to finish
  • Crime prevention: How best to secure your property and prevent being the victim of a crime
  • The investigative process: How investigations are handled and process involved
  • Discussion surrounding traffic stops: Best practices when stopped by the police
  • Q&A for general questions


The workshop is open to students, faculty, and staff. A safety tabling activity that includes on- and off-campus resources will follow the presentation .

Mid-Week Mindful Mellow Sessions

Take a few moments of zen with Mid-Week Mindful Mellow sessions to reduce stress and clear mental clutter.


Wednesdays I 2:15-2:30 p.m. I Illick Hall, Tropical Greenhouse


Kit Sheehan, yoga instructor and ESF Yoga Club advisor, will lead participants to focus on the breath and offer basic guided meditation.

Student Conference | Call for Abstracts

The Graduate Student Association and the Mighty Oak Student Assembly are seeking abstracts for the CNY Conference on Environmental Science and Studies.


This free conference is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. Research students may submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations as sessions or workshops.

A College-wide social will give the ESF community the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the College’s first-ever Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) all while mixing and mingling.
