Host Home Provider Oversight Project Updates

HCPF is modifying the format and cadence of the Host Home Provider Oversight Project stakeholder meetings. The Host Home Provider Oversight Project has shifted to a workgroup format to work on the issues and topics stipulated within House Bill 23-1197. Developing and incorporating these workgroups allows for a more focused conversation with stakeholders and ensures that equal representation of several groups, such as advocates and providers, are included in these discussions.

The workgroups will report periodically to the larger group on their meetings and progress. Below is an overview of the workgroups, entities involved, timeline, and cadence of future meetings:

Workgroup #1: Host Home Provider Database

This workgroup will recommend tracking host homes and excluding problematic providers from remaining in the system. The first meeting will be held the week of April 15, 2024. The date will be announced when scheduled.

Workgroup Members:

Workgroup #2: Grievance and Complaint Process

This workgroup will evaluate the current grievance process and provide recommendations for improvements. The first meeting will be held at the beginning of May, the date will be announced when scheduled.

Workgroup Members:

Workgroup #3: Enforcement of Regulations

This workgroup will examine current regulations and how those regulations can be more effectively enforced. The first meeting will be held at the end of May, the date will be announced when scheduled.

Workgroup Members:

Workgroup Members will report to the larger stakeholder group on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Please contact the workgroup members with any concerns and recommendations.

Free Self-Care Training for Direct Care Workers

Building Your Self-Care "Toolkit!"

April 11, 2024

We at the Direct Care Workforce Collaborative (DCWC) and Maximus understand that the work of a Direct Care Worker can be both rewarding and challenging, sometimes leading to a variety of feelings or emotions such as stress, burnout, exhaustion, sadness, frustration, and loss…to name just a few.

This presentation was crafted through conversation with the DCWC Value and Awareness co-chairs, Pascale Adou and Brooklynn Riehl, and is being offered by partnering with Maximus. It will focus on understanding the importance of self-care, the value of building and maintaining connections with others, and provide a variety of relaxing and enjoyable activities you can place in your “ToolKit” and pull out to do whenever you have a few minutes to do something special for yourself. Lastly, we will facilitate a mindfulness meditation activity and wrap up with time for a few questions. Speakers include Lori Crawford, LCSW, Clinical Program Manager at Maximus, and Emily Isaacs, Clinical Implementation Manager at Maximus.

Please reach out to HCPF_DCWorkforce@state.co.us with any questions. Thank you!

The training will be held:

Thursday, April 11, 2024

4 to 5 p.m. MT
