ICC Transportation Module 2022- A 1974 BMW 2002 Turbo Reimagined for 2030

This five-week module is always a rigorous way to start the fall at the ICC for seniors, but it is also one of the most loved experiences! We were happy to welcome back Boris Fabris, an automotive designer and lecturer from Turin, Italy, who maintained his partnership with the ICC during the pandemic, but you just can't replace Boris 'live." The students were also joined by designer, Brian Shane, Zukun Plan, who has been helping to support this module for years. His talents and in-person supervision make a huge impact. 2022 was the first time that the students had deliverables associate with virtual reality. Thank you to Jacob Tesmer for doing the preparation to lead the uncharted VR section of the module.

Creative Community

The ICC is proud to partner with and to host Parables, Columbus' newest creative community meet up. Join us on Sunday evening, October 9th, at 6:00 p.m. to hear from ICC and Cedarville professor, Jay Kinsinger, who will be speaking on The Cure for OBS (Ordinary Bicycle Syndrome). Jay's love of wood, cycling and his engineering background came together when he began building wood bikes in 2011 and founded Sojourn Cyclery in 2015. He’s been a hobby frame builder for nearly forty years.

ICC @ Work

Meet Alyssa Vandegrift, member of the ICC Class of 2022, and a self-proclaimed people person. She is originally from Carrolton, Ohio, and pursued industrial design because it allowed her to use her God-given gifts to serve others and make a difference in their lives through "human-centric design." Further a volunteering experience at a homeless shelter for women stoked that passion to serve even more and she even dedicated her senior capstone project to designing a shelter for women called Serenity House.

"Design is a powerful tool and it can give people second chances."

Shortly after graduation Alyssa was hired as a designer by RDL Architects in Shaker Heights.
