A Face in the Crowd Available through Amazon Prime.
The story is a revealing and cautionary portrait of what happens when a non-politician captures the American imagination, expresses the frustrations and aspirations of the people, wins hearts and trust, and litters the landscape with choice reminders that beneath his truth-telling lies a surly streak of contempt.

Senior Adult Meal Delivery Program
Our recent survey indicated that many of us want to help senior adults, and this is a way to put our interests into action. NCJW is supporting the Alpert JCC in its program to provide senior adults who are housebound due to COVID-19 with healthy and delicious meals at no cost to them on Wednesdays.

The program needs additional volunteers who are willing and able to help out:

  • Could you deliver in Leisure World and/or the Greater Long Beach area?
  • Could you be on a waiting list as a substitute delivery person?
  • Could you assist as a meal packer (occasionally needed)?

If you are interested in helping, send your name with your interest to Gayle Ehrenberg, RSVP Program Director at gehrenberg@alpertjcc.org. Include your name and contact information including email, phone number, and address. You may contact her with questions at 562.426.7601 x1013.

Below is a breakdown of each Wednesday meal packing and delivery day:
9:30 am -- Set up tables, prepare
10:15 am -- Volunteers pack meals that The Grand delivers to the AJCC
10:45 am - 11:00 a.m. -- Meals are picked-up by our volunteers for delivery
11:15 am - noon -- Breakdown
