The Ford County Historical Society presents Historic Cemetery Tours!

Participants will hop aboard the Dodge City Trolley for a ride to Maple Grove Cemetery, where they will enjoy a 45-minute walking tour of the historic cemetery sites of Dodge City's founding fathers.

Tickets are $20 each (cash only) and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are on sale now at the Dodge City Visitor Information Center.

Tours will take place on Oct. 16 & 17 and Oct. 23 & 24 at 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Halloween Haunt

The Spooky Shed returns for another year of scares! Open every Friday & Saturday night in October and Halloween night, this haunted house, located at 1115 Walnut in Ford, Kansas, offers a spine-tingling good time.

Admission is $5.00 per person and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. This attraction is not recommended for small children.

International Festival

The second annual International Festival, which aims to bring refugees, immigrants, and long-term residence together to build stronger relationships to make Dodge City a more inclusive and welcoming community, was held on Sunday, Sept. 19. The festival is made possible through the cooperation of Main Street Dodge City, Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce Multi-Cultural Committee, Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce, Dodge City Public Library, and Dodge City Community College and is held annually as part of National Welcoming Week.

This year’s event hosted over 40 vendors, live music, dance performances, and other entertainment. Also featured was a panel discussion about Dodge City’s Mexican Village and an ethnic photo exhibit at the Carnegie Center for the Arts. More than 1,500 people attended this year’s festival.

Red Beard Fall Festival

On Sept. 15, Red Beard Coffee hosted its first fall festival. The coffee company partnered with other local businesses to host booths, games, and prizes.

Painting pumpkins, playing cornhole, and getting their faces painted were just some of the activities enjoyed by the hundreds of children and adults who attended the event.

The Fall Festival also raised funds for the Ford County Suicide Prevention Coalition by selling pies participants could throw at local business owners.
