Announcing the 2022 Transportation Summit

In order for our communities to thrive, people need to be able to move freely and safely no matter their identities.

As we emerge from a global pandemic, racial reckoning, and historic labor shortages, more workers are holding their employers accountable to recognizing and fostering more equitable and just workplaces that also ensure the freedom of movement.

We’re inviting business and civic leaders to come together and explore how a mobility justice framework can equip and prepare employers to build, attract, and retain a future-ready & resilient workforce. Hear from keynote speaker, Yolanda Davis-Overstreet, a nationally-recognized community leader and champion for mobility justice. Learn more about Yolanda below. Other speakers include Hennepin County Commissioner, Irene Fernando, and Minneapolis College President, Sharon Pierce. Stay tuned for more speaker details.

This is a free event! Join us at The Hennepin, in the heart of the Hennepin Theatre District in Downtown Minneapolis. Breakfast will be provided by Breaking Bread Catering. Register early: seats are limited.

Meet The Keynote Speaker

Yolanda Davis-Overstreet is a graduate of the Urban Sustainability Master’s Program (USMA) at Antioch University, Los Angeles (2018). Her community service work and consulting fall in the areas of community organizing and mobility justice with a focus on pedestrian safety in communities of color. She is the founder of Ride in Living Color, a bicycling and mobility justice advocacy initiative that was started in 2011. As a woman of color, mother, social and environmental activist, and recently trained in urban sustainability, one of the most vital lessons Yolanda has learned and activated in these transformative years of doing community service work, is that not only does “her” narrative matter, but equally so, the “community narratives” matter.
