Along about seven miles of Route 7, we're adding a third lane and shared-use paths in each direction, building a pedestrian underpass to access Colvin Run Mill Park, replacing and raising the bridge over Difficult Run, and making many intersection, bicycle and pedestrian improvements. Learn more.
Construction and Design Updates
In September, crews continued construction activities along the corridor:
Completed grading and placement of cement-treated aggregate, asphalt and curb construction along westbound Route 7 between Lyons Street and Trotting Horse Lane.
Shifted traffic on westbound Route 7 to the north between Lyons Street and Forestville Drive.
Shifted traffic on eastbound Route 7 to the south between Lewinsville Road and Jarrett Valley Drive.
Continued pipe installation for the water main distribution relocations between Towlston Road and Lewinsville Road.
Started storm sewer pipe crossings underneath Route 7 between Lewinsville Road and Laurel Hill Road.
Third-party utility design and relocation activities are also ongoing.

Retaining wall construction along eastbound Route 7 continues.
Crews are installing over 15 miles of storm pipe along Route 7.
