Distinguished Abstract Expressionist, Dug Morton

Exploring ideas by way of abstract images is often Dug Morton's artistic goal. Pure color, line, texture and shape are increasingly the means of communicating concepts in Mr. Morton's art.
At least that is the case with the paintings he will exhibit at Gallery Sitka in Shirley, Mass. from September 6, 2015 to October 11, 2015 a show highlighted by a special Artist's Reception on Sunday, September 20, 2015.

Melinda has been running her own business as a fiber artist for five years and has been a juried member of The League of NH Craftsmen since 2012. She specializes in the Nuno Felt technique which is a wet felt process that merges silk fabric of wool roving creating one piece of fabric.

Join a talented artist for a life drawing class using a live model. The students will bring their ownsupplies and draw or paint independently of the instructor. The instructor will make sure the model is set up for different lengths of time for various poses. If the students need help an instructor will be available.
We will look at all the work during the last session.

**NEW WORKSHOP** Realistic Still Life in Pastel with Lisa Ober
Stone Arch Village Community Room, Keene, NH

Artist Lisa Ober, PSA, will teach a color-filled workshop on how to create beautifully detailed still life paintings in pastel. Lisa will take a step-by-step approach through her unique still life technique, from the first sketch to the finished piece using a photo reference (provided).
Students will get plenty of personal attention, and Lisa's enthusiasm for still life painting is as contagious for the beginner as it is for the experienced painter.

The Templeton Cultural Council has set an October 15, 2015 deadline for organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.
These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Templeton - including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.
This year, the Templeton Cultural Council will distribute about $4,800 in grants. For specific guidelines and complete information, contact Jan Lefebvre or Pat Gale, or email templetonculture@gmail.com.
